hey just instaleed the k&n v2 intake (pain in the ***)..anyway the next day the engine light comes on as well a the squigilly lines (stability control not dsc) any ideas.....???
Try the twenty-stomp-reset.
Key to on, but not started,
tap brakes enough to light brakelights twenty times, quickly,
watch the oil pressure gauge, should go to 'normal' then back to 'o'.
This resets the keep-alive memory.

well do you think thats what it could be, im not going back to the dealer there idiots, and the car just got a new battery, had the recall done for the front seal by the crank, motor mounts, and the most current reflash...

I am new to this Forum and a new RX8 owner, but visited the dealer and talked with another 8 owner, and he said the K&V air intake caused contamination of the sensor after the filter with oil on the sensor surface, not saying this is your issue just passing info...Gr8t8

yea did that one, but its still comes back eventually as well as the p0420 (dont have a cat anymore, just got a custom exhaust done)..i actually think i may be lossing power with the exhaust, is 3 inch to big??? i thought all exhausts butt the greddy were 3 inch..??
not sure what you are asking now..
the cel will not go away... until you put a cat back on.. or clear the 420 code. and if you clear it, it will come back..
as to the dsc and traction control lights they should be off..
the exhaust dia is 2.5 to 3.0 depending on the exhaust.. feeling a difference between the two is not likely..

just asking bout the exhaust just wanna make sure i didnt loose hp with it, cause the muffler is one of thoses cylinder shaped ones that looks like a resonator, and is placed before the y pipe, but at wot sounds likes its blowing a lot of air ( almost like a jet engine)
How many threads are you gonna make on this subject? I know this is about the K&N, but you got two others on the exhaust already.

i know, im just tring to get as many opinions as possible sorry...and the exhaust sounds good and looks good just want to make sure im not loosing power with it, cause i raced my friends probe that has the kl-ze motoer swap with intake and exhaust and its gutted to about 2500lbs, and he got me nuy a car or so

The car will shut off in 2 seconds if the MAF is not plug in. Cuz the ECU has no idea what the airflow rate is.

Everytime I clean my K&N, I will clean the MAF as well. and there were a couple of times I forgot to plug it back in ... and the engine will just turn on for 2 seconds then shuts off ...
i have only done it once.. was your car cold when you started it??? i mean stone cold.
