Pic with factory spoiler/bra

A new pic with factory spoiler and Mazdaformance Bra.....That bra fits perfect although the underpiece seems to pull out from under the hood piece after extended driving...nothing a little velcro tape couln't fix...........

You do realise you have made a nice car look totally stupid with that bra?

What is the point of the designers going to all that trouble to make the nose of the car distinctive if you cover it with a great big black sack, you might as well have bought something ugly in the first place. Get a clear one, or wrap it in 3M.

I think the cops should start handing out tickets for this offense.

I think the bra can serve a purpose if you are on road trips for extended periods.

i would not leave the bra on for a daily commute or for any extended period of time; long trips are cool though. reason i say this is i left my bra on my miata for over 4 months....then when i took off, there were dull areas on the paint. this is due to all the rubbing the bra does on the paint...the air makes it move around a bit, but enough to rub the paint. a little polishing and buffing will fix it.

also, the UV rays might affect the unprotected paint, causing some mismatching paint too.

I really like the yellow cailpers and brake pads. BTW what kind of paint did you use and where can I get it? I'll probably do mine in Red. The Bra looks ok. A necessary evil if your worried about rock chips. At least it's form fitting so it doesn't hide the lines of the car. Looking good!

yeah bras are stupid. The point of them are to keep dents and clean and stuff right? yeah you will never get dents with the bra but when will that help at all if you will never show off the front face? your just making your car not look that good.

Ok, one more time- please, if you don't like something someone does to their car, great- but don't get nasty about it. Okay? Thanks.

I only run the bra occasionally...The caliper paint was believe it or not the high-end rustoleum...about 4 coats...it cleans off like plastic....As for the guy from England....You live in England...what the hell do you know!!!!!!!!

Well, I am thinking about getting one since all these rock chips are tearing me up. I'd rather have it on all week when I have to drive all over town and take it off on the weekend for the cruising, rather than just leave it to keep getting pelted. I have acumulated almost 30 chips in 3 months and I am always hanging back from other cars to avoid it.

And if the bra hurts someones delicate sensibilities, too bad. Unless yer *** is over here painting in the chips, I'll do whatever I want to my car.

ai'ght simma down bro, just simma down homie

don't be hatin'...

:D

There were a few people on here who were curious to know what the bra looks like, including myself, and having this pic available will clear up alot of questions for some people.

Personally I think they did an excellent job on the bra, I don't see many bras that really fit the car well. This one looks great, IMO.

Of course the car without the bra looks better, but until then, I am using mine until I get my clear bra going.

...jeez people like you make this place a not-so-friendly forum...

You tell 'em dude!!

I just recently got my red 8 and would be upset to see chips from the paint. I've heard about the clear 3M stuff, but haven't seen it. How's it end up looking? Anybody know? Have pics?

I don't want it to look like syran wrap (with wrinkles and all...).

Sometimes bras are good for the wearer if you know what I mean.

Yeah, quite a few of us have it - do a search for 'XPEL' (a vendor of clear bra kits) or 'scotchcal' (the 3M product name). There's plenty of reports and pics on the forum.

I had the XPEL kit installed 3 days after I picked up the car. It's invisible unless you're looking for it and are within 3 feet of the car. Best of all, it works great - I'm at around 6K miles now, and there isn't a single chip on the front of the car. I have it on my other car, for 2 years and 2 winters of gravel/sand/salt on the roads, and there's still not a chip or any damage on the clear film. It really does work great, and there are none of the worries that go with using a bra.

Regards,
Gordon

So how's it going with this bra? Does it rattle or "buzz" at speed?

Update:

I don't use my OEM bra anymore, I have the clearbra (XPEL) installed a month ago. Cost me 600 out the door, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

It works great although it stains with little plant partical that had some coloring in it. Looked like it went all the way into the plastic (couldn't wipe it off). Not very noticeable, since the stain was a medium felt tip line-width mark that was slight orange and was about 1/3 inch long. Anyway I just thought it you should know the plastic can get stained.... I should have waxed the car as soon as I got it, perhaps that may have reduced or avoided the staining.

Anyway If anyone is interested, I have my old bra for sale, it was used for about a month, still very good shape. PM me if you're interested.

Thumbs up

Thanks for posting that man! I wanted to see what the wing and front splash guards would look like with no flare kit. I just ordered them and strakes. Did you do the wing yourself? I will only use the bra for road trips. Don't worry about that english dude poppin off at your car. They have bad teeth anyway and a bad accent!
