Any Reputible Maitenance shops in Colorado?

I'm newly out of warranty and am looking to run away as fast as possible from the stealership. Has anyone had luck in Boulder or the Denver area with a good mechanic for your Rx8? Also autobody and paint as well. I just moved to the state, and don't really know who to try. Thanks guys!

I haven't had to use this peeps yet myself, but check out:

Precision Import Repair. 4444 S Federal Blvd Englewood, CO 80110

You can also check out Colorado Mazda Club. Some folks there might have some god input as far as local shops. I know someone just had some bodywork done on his Mazda6 as well and was mighty pleased with it. I'll see if I can dig up where he had it done.

I have only had shotty experiences with the stealers so far, and I too am looking for a good place. But in any case, we should meet up some time and go for a drive or something. What color is your 8? I work in Boulder by 13th and Walnut and I live in Broomfield.

I'm going to give Precision Import a shot at fixing my alignment/balancing issues with the front end. Any other shops recommended?? I'm done with the dealershit.

I just went and got an alignment at goodyear last weekend. The one down by 92nd and Wadsworth. They seemed like really good guys. I just really badly need some new front tires.

The nice weather is bringing out a couple more 8s! I saw two blues and a red yesterday. The red one was in Boulder. I tried to say hi to the driver when he was behind me at a light but all he would do was wave.

I know what you mean. Some 8 drivers aren't interested at all in being friendly. A little pretentious. I've only seen 3 in Boulder since summer (a red, a blue on campus, and a silver leaving town).

You know if they used a high speed balance? The low speed that the dealership uses can't detect minor imbalances.

Im from Grand Junction just got my 8 bout a month ago and im looking for a shop somewhere around here as well My 8 is still under warranty but whith everything the car has on it i doubt theyll actually warranty it I got the car used (only 8 around here at the time i purchased it) it has body kits rims suspension exhaust and intake work all done (gotta get rid of the huge rims leaves no sidewall to flex) but im willing to go to denver or wherever in the area that i have to go to get someone knowledgable and reputable to help with my probs. The timing is way outta whack so much that it misfires and just runs oddly. One of my coils is testing a touch weak but supposidly its withing tolerances. If any of you find anywhere lemme know plz

His was greay and was gonna get it at carvelles but they sold it from right under him.

I don't know any pace other than the Mazda dealers. What mods do you have? Post up no the CMZC forum under the RX-7/8 section. You'll get more help over there than here. We mostly browse on 8 club. use at as a tool. We check once in a while to see if there'a anyone new.

Lol thats exactly where mine came from i saw that gray one down there about 2 days after i got mine though. I would highly advise not going there for a car though (but it is the only place you can actually get an 8 for a decent used price) and thx for the info im gonna sign up over there. My 8 has body kits (not sure the make of em cant really find anything orderable like it) some ugly as hell 20 inch rims (absolutely terrible cause it destroys the cornering of the car) some suspension work (havent torn into it enough to find the brand) exhaust (borla catback system) all this was on it when i got it (with 12k miles was a bit odd) but since ive done some intake work waiting on my good parts to show up so im using a cheap spectre system with dual filters (maf was reading way odd with one of those cheap filters so i went dual) and been trying to get the ignition timing to set to a half decent position. I gotta get it to denver soon though to get mazda to do some warranty work (need new coils really badly and "supposedly" its gonna be covered by warranty.

Sounds like your mods won't effect warrant at all. Coils should be replaced if it's still under warranty.

Yep after they sold his 8 they were supposed to sell curtis he bought a 6. After a few days it was a gonner. He took it there and told them it was making weired noises....they told him it was nothing. Going about 40mph the front tire flew off and he went to a guard rail. Got all his money back and they will be paying for his medical bills.

Ouch thats pretty bad bout typical for carvilles though i test drove my 8 to a very reputable body shop to have frame/body inspected thouroghly and then took it to the obd2 codereader to check engine then just replaced filters and oils on the day i bought it. Also mind if i ask what type of suspention are you running? I got a bad shock (potholes out here are rough as hell on cars) so im kinda looking at getting a set of the coilover dampners (this is of course after im done at dealership) but im just curious if theyll help that much havent ran across anything definitive on the 8's btw what color was that 6? and hope he gets better soon that just sucks
