All of the RX-8 donut videos I've seen have been from outside the car, so I thought I'd offer the driver's perspective...

your clutch hates you right now... along with your car in general... seems you could have done better in a wet parking lot. Try doing a 30mph e-brake pull and cut it hard. Easier to replace brake pads than a clutch!

 

That was the most harmless way to do donuts possible. Little wear on the clutch. Little wear on the tires. And no rubber marks left on the surface. Notice that there is no smoke. And the car sounds like it's on a dyno for the most part. That lot was in a poor neighborhood. Very oily. And then it had just rained. I wasn't even there with any intention of goofing off. The store closed and I got in my car to drive off. When I started slipping all over just leaving the lot, I decided to stay and play. After a good ten or fifteen minutes, I thought that I'd pull out my camera so that I could share my joy.

I do the e-brake pulls all the time just parking my car in my driveway on rainy days. But THIS was an e-ticket!

The words at the end are, "Hey, dude!" It was the security guy pulling up to me in his golf cart. The sound is not a thud. Nothing was hit and no one was hurt. That was just me putting the camera away one-handed. (And anyone who wants to criticize the performance, you might want to try doing it yourself with a camera in one hand.)

Short story shorter, after the talk I went on my way back home.
