Ok, so do I need the engine cover?

Is it just for looks or does it protect the engine from dirt, etc?

I was having a *bad* day, topped up my oil and left the f'n thing in the Crappy Tire parking lot. F&$#!

Dealer wants $200 to replace it. Thx.

you don't "need" it. You'll be fine without the cover

If you really want one, add a "Favourite Search" watch to my.ebay.ca and have it e-mail you when someone put one on E-Bay. They usually go for around $50-60 used.

Personally I think it's quite useless. On or off, doesn't really matter.

I keep it because it keeps dirt off the engine and it's easier to clean.

I took mine off. Won't fit with the strut bar on, and I don't want to chop it up.
I think the car runs cooler with it off.

I never got one. Got the car in Ottawa and must have driven off without it. Don't care, though. Would it even fit with the MS intake?

yes it fits with the MS CAI. I have it on, it just looks awkward when you open the hood. The cover is there, and then there is a HUGE HOLE with a long silver intake pipe extending towards the front.

I have it off, just cause I like being able to see the huge rotary engine that powers this toque monster . Actually like how clean the engine bay looks with it off, and I have the cover in my basement as decoration :P.
