Just joined the club!

Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time poster and buyer. Just picked up my '07 Stormy Blue Mica GT over lunch today. Big smiles driving home!!!

I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions over the next few weeks but I figured I just start it off by saying hi.

Cheers,

Canphan

Welcome! Awesome colour.

You can edit your location in your profile.

Questions are good, especially if they're [re]searched. Enjoy

Welcome! Remember to break her in properly (which means you won't be getting the really good smiles just yet)

Thanks for the kind welcome. I certainly babied her a fair bit on the first drive (kept it under 5k for sure) and don't plan on doing any WOT for quite a while. Driving conditions here in Ottawa have been up and down the past week or so. Even with the 17" snows on I plan on waiting for the spring for the really spirited driving!

I pray for you my child... that after the break-in period and you open her up into the NIRVANA regions of RPM-bliss, that you don't get the "Marble/sand in a blender" phenomenom. Mine is also a '07 from October only, I'm through with the break-in period and I have the marble/sand blender sound in high RPM's.

Wish you luck...

ahahahah.... you gotta scare off the weak ones first to keep this car unique!! No other problems, the rest were all paranoia issues I had.. like the low-rpm hesitations... the strange creaks/rattles.... shifter vibrations.... rattling dashboard instrument panel.... LOL LOL!!!!

oh yeah... as LEESHA had said earlier... yes I have cold-brake-squeal too. For this car, I'm refusing to label things as "problems" now.. they're all simply paranoia and a figure of my delusion

Thanks for the heads-up Darkbrew. I'll keep watching the skies for the 08 cruise.

From your screen name I take it you enjoy the darker side of the brewing arts. If you find yourself in Vermont at any point do yourself a favour and check out Long Trail Double Bag ale and Magic Hat Jinx ale. Tastebud nirvana!

Hey Canphan, I'm from Ottawa (family still there) but teach out here in London, Ont. I know it gets really cold there and tons of snow. I'll be making the drive there for the xmas holidays. First winter with the '07 rx8 with blizzaks. Gonna be a trial by fire.

Good luck with the 8 and hope Ottawa treats you well. When I get into town, I'll be on this site trying to find some of you guys.
