Maintenance of a Turbo

I am starting to really lean towards FI for my 04' RX-8. Admittedly, this will be my first FI car, and obviously I still have a lot to learn about it (and I will continue doing research). That being said, what would you say is the biggest maintenance headache of owning a turbo charged 8?

I am asking this because there aren't a lot of mechanics in my area that will work on a rotary engine (arkansas), so I may have to travel a good ways to get the turbo kit installed/tuned. From what I've read, it seems to be a close to maintenance free kit (the Greddy kit) if installed and tuned properly.

Did most of you that own a turbo end up getting a heavier clutch installed? Thanks.

i guess it all depends. some people have had more problems than others.

me personally ive had a greddy turbo for about 12,000 miles and just had to do my first real major service to it. which basically was replacing rotted couplers and clamps. 400 bucks or so.

really its not much different than a NA car, just check all your fittings and make sure you watch your oil pressure and all the other vitals. every once in awhile.

the greddy kit becomes a nightmare usually when somebody installs it who has no idea what they are doing, and then tunes its without very much knowledge. *hence my problem*
