First, sorry if this has been posted. I did a search, but could find no info on this specific size. I found a good deal on a set of snow tires but the sizes are different. Tire size is 225-45 -18 front and back is 255-40-18. Will these work on the eights stock rims? Will there be any other problems w/ that combo? My car is not lowered yet, so I don't think clearance will be an issue. Thanks for any and all help.

 

The 255's will be much wider than you want. 225 is the standard width, and I've heard of people going to 245-40 with decent results, but narrower tends to be better in the snow (cuts through the snow.)
Most who get snow tires get a second set of rims, usually 17's (higher profile is also better in the snow.) You can go narrower with 17's as well.
