I have own my 2005 MT RX8 for almost 1 year (bought it new). It was checked in the last recall and everything came out clean and nice. No changes were applied except for new flash of firmware.

Yesterday, when I was accelerating hard, there was a sudden loss of power. The power loss was sudden and it was *only* for a brief 1-2 seconds. I tried to reproduce it thru acceleration and I could not reproduce it again.

Do you think the engine is choked up somewhere with carbon or fuel injectors are blocked? Or are there worse things lurking underneath?

 

Sounds like maybe the cat is clogged??? Try searching to see if you can find more info.
