my rx8 has a midpipe, and catback, if i would mount spark plugs near the end, in the tips and hit them off while driving, would it shoot flames, or no?

again i do not want to do this, i am just wondering if the fumes from the exhaust would ignite, and shoot a steady flame.

It probably will be dissapointing. To do it right you either use a fuel injector and a spark plug or temporarily richen the fuel mixture while lighting it off.

It is also very illegal to do this on the street anywhere in the USA.

 

My 05 RX-8 would sometimes shoot a small flame out the exhaust if I let off above 8000rpm under load.

It had a supercat and OBX cat-back.

 

yea my exhaust will shoot flames now with the midpipe. i was just wondering if the fumes would ignite, cause of no cat, and since the car runs rich already
