The black spoiler under the front bumper was broken, how essential is it?

Could i just put the mazda lip kit on it, without the black piece?

 

is it the guard for the underbody of the engine or the lip spoiler at the bottom? I dont think it will fit with an aftermarket front as ive never seen any with an aftermarket front and the bottom lip. mine itself is a little cracked. looking to replace with ms kit soon.
