Hi all,

I'm looking for an aftermarket HU, as well as a kit to install it in. I saw the corksport dash kit, but is there an alternative?

I have searched, but damned if I can get a clear answer as to alternatives to the Corksport dash kit, and a double-din to fit in there.

I know there are some Eclipse HU's bu they are waaay more than I hope to spend.

Some brief thoughts by anyone that has swapped out the HU for something reasonably priced?

Corksport's kit it the only plug and play kit. Members keep threatening to build & market one, but don't hold your breath. Rumor has it that Metra will have one this year.

You have to be more specific on the type & cost of HU you want, but I think you will be hard pressed to find a better unit than the Pioneer AVIC-D3 for the money.

 

Yes, I have the corksport kit and the AVIC-D3. Couldn't ask for a better setup. I have been very pleased with the design of the corksport kit... Only thing is the customers with the latest kit do not have heat yet. Seems like Kanatechs left out a wiring harness for the temp control ****. Derick says that we should have them very soon. Let me know if you have any questions.

I read through rx8guy86's thread and got a boatload of info (you got PM too ). Just a couple of Qs still linger.

Does the Corksport kit come with a universal harness for any double-din HU? Or do I still need to determine speaker connections?
