Building Fac Nav / Car PC + Extras

I am new to the RX8 forums but I have spent the last few days searching through previous threads hoping to come up with the best solution for what I would like to do.

I have an 07 RX8 GT without the Nav System and this is what im looking at:

I want to purchase the factory Pop Up for the Nav:
http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...000-1155120408

Install a 7" touch screen.

Install a car PC with following capabilities:
-Nav/GPS
-Satellite Radio
-DVD/MP3 play back
-Bluetooth/UConnect (hands free phone)
-Auxillary input

Basically im looking for advice on the best way to integrate all this regardless of cost without me having to home build a lot of it. I've been unable to find many options in built Car PCs that contain all the options I would like to incorporate.

I am also very open to other suggestions and advice people have.

if you dont mind not having the motorized pop up you could save $900

019ebx: Something like that is my fall back plan. Seems like it would be a lot easier and cheaper to do and give me everything I want. Please do let me know how it goes.

N rider89: I am quite attached to the factory pop up but thank you for the advice. Just out of curiosity what (Car PC?) did you attach to your screen?

Beyond a Car PC do I have any options for buying a GPS unit (or other components?) and having it display through the pop up LCD screen?

Heya,

I've got a CarPC installed with the Retractable LCD / Nav Holder N rider89 mentioned you will get all the functionality you mentioned earlier from a CarPC

Now for the bad news you mentioned you did not want to home build a lot of it IMO this is pretty much your best option for CarPC as there will be a LOT and I mean a LOT of tinkering to do to get it to do what you want it to do. Visit Mp3car.com forums for TONS of info on CarPc's.

If you’re not up for a lot of home install an tinkering your probably better off with one of the Pioneer or Eclipse head units available, although there is one prebuilt in dash PC you may want to look at the Infill G4.

Either way good luck and keep us posted feel free to PM if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer if I can
