So I'm looking to start making some serious power, whats the best tuner for these cars? I had a pcmforless.com program that ran on my laptop and I could rewrite the pcm on my old Camaro (95), does anyone make something like this for the 8's? I would like to be able to reprogram later as I get more power. Thanks guys

Damnit, whats the second best? I was talking with a mechanic today and he mentioned the APEXi Neo, anyone got any experience with it? I seem to be running rich, I've noticed some smoke when i dig into it is this normal for the RX8? As I mentioned before I'm coming from a V8 background and smoke is usually not good so I'm kinda worried

Mazsports Interceptor-X is $1500 and the GReddy E-Manage Ultimate is $700 or less if you pick it up used. Some don't like the EMU but others have great success with it.

I'm waiting (like a lot of others) for the COBB AccessPort. Word is it is supposed to come out this summer......doesn't look like it's gonna happen

The RX-8 PCM is a very complex computer controlling a plethera of variables and some companies aren't making stuff for it, for one reason or another (i.e. small market)

 

Why do you say it doesn't look like COBB will come out this summer? Has there been any news?

True, but it seems kinda normal for a lot of companies on this board not to do releases. Mainly because they are small groups of people and they don't spend much if any time on the net.

So posting is work, and takes time away from progressing on income generating projects.

I'm not saying it will come out, I just don't see lack of news as something that says it isn't. Unless they are known to post often, in which case it doesn't mean something.

 

Last word from Trey was Summer. Haven't seen anything officially written since then...though someone did confirm they are in fact a beta tester, so we know for sure those cars are out there currently.

 

I spoke to cobb. It looks like they are waiting for the cables to connect the access port to the car. They are releasing the mazdaspeed3 and RX8 at the same time.

His exact words were June / July.
