Hopefully. They still seem a little big though... they look like they were an afterthought. "Oh yeah, we need sidemarkers on this thing if it's going to be road legal huh?"

I like how they integrated the rear reflector into the taillight cluster.

B-Nez noted:

The reason the corner marker looks amber in some photos and clear in others is because there are 2 different cars. The right hand drive has clear, the left hand drive has amber. Look at the engine pic. You can clearly see that the marker is clear, and look at where the brake booster is...

We (in the U.S.) may get stuck with amber, but not to fear. I'm sure somebody will be selling the clear ones.

Note that the marker is below the seam (just)... so it's on the bumper... not the bodywork... perhaps it can be swapped.

Are clear sidemarkers legal in the US? I other words, will the car pass state inspection if they are clear?

I certainly think my Black RX8 would look better with clear sidemarkers. But I don't want to draw undue attention from anyone with a ticket book

Do what I did - get a clear marker with an amber bulb - I have never heard of anybody getting a ticket from clear turn signals on the front. Heck, some BMW's and Mercedes come with clear markers STOCK.

Folks driving behind must love you. Have you never driven behind a vehicle with a broken tallight lens, and been severely distracted, if not partially blinded, by the bright white light?

You're doing the same thing, but intentionaly. IMHO, that puts you on a par with a-holes who drive around with their high-intensity rear foglights on all the time.

I understood perfectly, and you confirmed: you have clear white lights with clear lenses. I stand by my assertion that white tail lights are distracting at best, and dangerous at worst.

My vote for clears..

but I doubt US models will have them. Guess it'll be an aftermarket thing.

Definitely clears...I'm getting a black RX and the amber just wouldn't look right...I had to search far and wide for clear corners for my blue 3000GT and finally found them for $129...

Sorry, but when I spoke to a production manager@ mazdarevitup, he clearly stated that the one on the showroom floor was going to be the production model. Aside from the adjustable coil-overs in the front that it had. Anyway, back to the point, it was amber.

And the whole "clear" thing in california? You can have any color tail light, side marker, or head light assembly aslong as it's approved by the DOT. Department of Transportation. That's the only way anything is truly "legal". Just like having that pretty little thing called a CARB sticker/#.
