5/26/2007 (Saturday) Meet!

Hey everyone, my 25th b-day is 5/25 so I wanted to try and schedule like a night out meet to celebrate on the 26th. I am planning to hit one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore called “La Tasca” if anyone would like to join me and help me celebrate breaking the quarter century mark! Those who are interested the restaurant is in the Inner Harbor Pratt Street Pavilion. If you are familiar with the area, it’s in the same complex as the Cheese Cake factory, Uno’s and right across from the Baltimore national aquarium, ESPN Zone and Hard Rock Café. Just so you know it’s a Spanish Tapas (not topless ) bar so don’t expect to find a cheese burger here, because its authentic Spanish food. I personally think the food is kick *** and I would love for some of you guys to make it out and see for your self! If you cant make it’s all good though. Anyway for those interested, the info is below.

Tapas Definition: Tapas (pronounced TAH-pas) is the name for a wide variety of appetizers in Spanish cuisine.

They may be cold, such as mixed olives and cheese, or warm, such as puntillitas, Andalusian battered, fried baby squid. In Spain (mainly in the southern half of the country), tapas are usually given for free to accompany a drink before lunch or dinner. In the United States and the United Kingdom, tapas have evolved into an entire cuisine; at Spanish restaurants, patrons may order many different small tapas, and combine them for a full meal.

Date: Saturday May 26th @ 5 or 6 pm?? Tentative
I would like to get everyone together in the evening but if that isn’t possible I could do this in the afternoon if it’s more convenient

The address is
201 East Pratt Street
Baltimore, MD 21202
Phone: (410) 209-2562
(Pratt Street Pavilion)

You can view the menu here (http://latascausa.com/menu/LaTASCA_menu.pdf). Note the menu is in Spanish but the English meanings are right below it and all descriptions are in English.

Hope to see you guys (and Gals) there!

Oh yeah, the website is http://www.latascausa.com/index.cfm

Is there any reasonable AND safe parking near the inner harbor. So far I have had no problems at the lot across from the science center, but @ $25 I would hope not. On the other hand, I had my door jimmied at the lot two blocks up behind the powerplant, but only paid $8 for the day.

If not, we will try to make it, but it wont be in Roxy...

Yep there is plenty down there you just have to know where to go. By the way darling 25 bucks to park is OUTRAGEOUS! I dont know who the heck is charging that. When I go I normally park in the outdoor lot on Gay street (no jokes there please ) which is right across the street from the Pratt Street Pavilion and costs a MAX of 13 dollars (its less of your there less than 3 hours) or you could park in the indoor garage right across from it for a flat rate of 8 bucks all night if its after 5. Another place is the Bank of america building 3 blocks away on pratt which charges about the same. Just about all the places charge a flat rate of 8 bucks after 5.

By the way Feras, I got ya man! Just let me know.

I'll try! My cousin's high school graduation party is that weekend, just can't remember what day, so I may not be able to

But for parking, the closest and safest (I haven't had any problems with my 8, at least) garage is the Pier V (5) parking garage. Its directly behind the ESPN Zone (on Pratt St, on the right).

Hey guys just for info for those who don’t know the inner harbor, here is a map that shows the 2 closest parking lots to the restaurant. One is a garage and one is outdoor parking. Both charge the same rate so if we do this after 5 it’s a flat 8 dollars, if we do it before it’s a MAX of 13.00 for 3 hrs or more. One other bonus, if we want to afterwards we could all hit the clubs or bars because we are only 4 blocks or so from Power Plant Live (http://www.powerplantlive.com) and about a mile from Fells Point for a bar crawl! Just a few ideas for you all to chew on.

I'm going to be in the Baltimore area that weekend for a dyno meet. Actually, I might be looking to pimp some dyno time that weekend given the general lethargy of my other auto-club. So, if anyone is looking for a couple cheap pulls (3 for 55$), stay tuned. This would be during the day at http://www.extrememotorsports.com.
