Thumbs down Car engine automatically dies?

Hi, it was raining here today in outer rim LA, anyhow I was cruising on 60west for a while and was getting off the freeway, as I was driving at about 25miles off the ramp, I hit the curvy part of the ramp so, went in the curve, starts accelerating a bit, but I guess there was a pool or some **** and my car hydroplaned,

heres the kicker, the it started spinning out of control, even though I didn't do ****, I was like "oops thats a bit wier..........WTF WTF!!!"

anyhow, I tried to regain control but to my dismay, the transmission light and engine light came on, the car made several 360s and went off the curb, GG for me
thankgod for no minor damage, just some huge scratches on the body, thats about it, a bit dent on side body, anyhow,

just wanna ask, wtf is this? does the car automatically dies when you hydroplane?
was there some type of sensor that tells the car to shut off engine when they think its out of control?

This is such a bad experience

If the car is going backwards while in a forward gear it will stall the engine.

no, heres in specific details, I can still remember vividly cus it happened only about 4 hours ago

the off ramp was curvy, as in it curves first right......then left, then right again, now mind you the ramp is HUGE......

anyhow, I came towards the first right, I let go of pedal, slowy into the curve, coming into the left curve, I push the pedal till I see a 40 on the dashboard, maintained speed into left curve, and there was a pool of water there, hit the pool of water while turning, it went SLUMP, then SWOOSH, then the sound of a rotary engine dying..........lost control of car, and bump bump bump! off the ramp I go, into the bushes..........

You could have inhaled water into the intake or hit something hard enough that the fuel pump kill safety went off.

Its clearly your fault.

Dont blame the car, blame the driver, which is you.
