Rythmic sounds with cluth released

Just bought my car a few weeks ago, and not being an expert ive noticed a new sound. Standing, at idle, there is a rythmic squeking sound, which dissapeares as soon as the cluth is depressed, and reappears upon clutch release. sort of like a choo.choo.choo

I have been told by a couple of other RX-8 owners who have driven my car that my clutch is slightly heavier than theirs.

My problems also include the fact that I live in a country without a Mazda dealership, and only a handful of RX-8;s, with no official support, and a few so called experts.
I dont know much about working on cars myself, and would appreciate any opinions i can get about this problem.

The car has 18K miles and a Fujitsubo exhaust system. This and some other cosmetic mods (door strips, rear fog lights etc) were done by the previous owner in japan, and I am unsure what mechanical mods have been perfomed etc. I will try and put up sounds clips/pics shortly.

My fuel gauge also does not show accurately. On a full tank it show 3/4 and is usualy only correct (thankfully) When the tank is low.

I know that my car makes the same sound, almost like there is something broken inside at times but the dealership said it was normal. Though to me the only problem is that the other rx-8's I've heard and driven do not make that noise.

throw out bearing. Other than the noise, nothing to worry about. I have had this happen on several cars, both stock and modified.

I have the same thing on mine (ACT clutch though). Is there really nothing to worry about? I would think that the throw out bearing could get worn down if it's getting constant friction like this...

it is the throwout bearing, all cars make that sound they just arent right overtop of the tranny like the 8 and have more insulations. i could hear my very well and took it in because of it. they replaced the 2 shifter boots (one had a hole in it) and the noise is hardly noticable now, but it is and always will be there to some degree.

Ok im sorry, im no car expert, and really have no idea what a throw out beaing is. Is it pat of the clutch (ive been told my cluth is a little heavier than on other cars) My poblem is compounded by the fact that there is no local mazda dealer, and and i would take the car to somoene who has pobably only worked on a couple of RX-8's previously, so any advice/info on what the pull out bearing is/does and whether this problem should be left untouched, or does it require some action would be great.

Not only is there a choo choo sound, but also a constant underlying humming, sort of like gghoooonnnnnnnnnn..... that is constant with the choo choo as long as the clutch is released, but dissapears, as does the choo choo with the clutch is depessed.

My gearbox is also somewhat notchy, i.e it doesnt exactly shift smoothly and almost feels like either the clutch is not engaging completely and the gears are almost being pushed in slightly, or there is some other problem i cannot put a finger on. One mechanic said the sound, coupled with the slightly hard/notchy gearbox is a sign of low transmission/gearbox fluid. So im having him look into the fluid levels in the morning.

ive been asking about the throw out bearing for awhile now and find that people either say its no big deal or to have it monitored.

for a simplified description of what it is/where it's located, check out howstuffworks

mine is really loud if im next to a wall or in an enclosed area.
