18s in front 19s in back???

I have looked around to see if anyone has done this yet, but have'nt found anything. I wanted to know if anyone has put 18s on the front and 19s on back. I am gonna be getting the Enkei RPF1s and I wanted to get 18x8.5 in front and 19x9.5 in back if the performance is'nt affected too much, I think it might look kinda good, the weight on the two sizes is the same according to enkei, but still gotta worry bout the other factors. Just a thought! Oh yeah i'll be running falken azenis 615s like i am now, but the 19s would probably have to be 265/40 to accomodate 9.5in width.

I have seen it on other cars and it seems to look ok. You really don't tell much difference though just looking at them.

265 40 19, try like 265 35 or even 30 man....the 4 tires overall diameter must be the same, its gonna look so awkward......ull have really thin sidewalls on the rear and big ol fat ones (in comparison) on the front. ull look like a dragstaer alright..... a fwd one.

performance-wise, you're going to get more understeer from the increased grip at the back. You'll probably get better launches though!

the understeer was what I was worried about the most, the look is'n t gonna be that bad, you will just be able to tell the difference. Anyway, I don't think I would ever really spend all that money on something that would really hinder performance. i'm not a show over go person at all. just wondered if any body had done it.

By the way, with these tires, if you've ever seen them in person, a 265/40 compared to a 265/35 would not be that much of a visual difference, even a 30 would'nt look rediculous, i'm not doing it, but it would'nt look like a FWD dragger.

I asked this question before, and it was never answered.... but

Wouldn't this have some kind of effect on the ECU and DSC?

it's an RX-8, not a Corvette

not to mention that it's probably the dumbest thing GM ever did on a Vette ...

not to mention, WTF would you want to run a 265/40-19 on the rear of an RX-8?

not to mention that there is no Azenis in that size

strike three, you're out n00b

meh, do what you like but don't kid yourself about not being a show over go person. I think it'll look good but performance wise you can do better. FWIW the NSX came w/ 16" front and 17" rears.

Oh man you got me there, NOOB!. Sorry I don't spend the better half of my life sitting on this site and posting cause I have nothing better to do. Also like I said a couple times already, it was just something I was wondering if anyone else had done on here, just to see it. Imagination is how vehicles got how they are now, through trial and error, you know what that is don't you? Or are you the type of "tuner" that's mainstream. Does'nt want to try stuff or think stuff up on the chance of sounding stupid to others. "not to mention" I did'nt even look up the tire sizes cause like I said it was a thought, an idea!

Also i'm not a show only or go only person. I try to have a balanced car, cause it is a daily driver and I like to keep it looking nice too. So i'm not kidding myself.

Yeah i'm sure it would look like that!

Oh and I was wondering why "it's probably the dumbest thing GM ever did on a Vette..."
I mean have you owned or driven a vette to it's limits with and without staggered rims and tires? Probably not, so what are you basing your opinion off of? Pure ignorance right!

can you possibly make yourself look any more clueless?

I'm betting that you can since you're not doing any better in your second thread than your first ....

I just don't know why you would want to do that other than for a look. You have yet to explain why you think it may be a good idea. If you like the look and that is what you want...it is your car. I just cannot see how that could possibly be a good idea to include the possible DSC issue mentioned earlier.

if you get the right tires i think you can pull it off, the 2007 350z track package has 18 front's with 19's in the rear.

You know what, it was a damn thought guys, to those that trying to make someone feel stupid go ahead, your waisting your time, i don't have to nor do I want to explain anything because i have'nt looked into it or thought about it seriously to even get into the way to go about it with making it perform the same if not better and look good at the same time, i did'nt know I had to think about something soo much and do all the damn research on an idea before posting on this site. Is it possible for someone to just get on here and say something off the top of there head without going into a huge battle. maybe i should have stated it as a joke at first then it would'nt have been taken so damn serious. but usually people get ideas and put them out there "like I did" before doing all the homework to see if they work, performance wise and looks!

Sorry so damn long.
