I bought the car when it had 11800km on it, now this car is 8 months old and I've driven 28000km with it.

So far the car drives good, but there are some replaced parts under warranty:

New rear brake disc@12000km
New gearbox @29000km
New clutch @30000km

And a few parts out of warranty
New front brake pads@30000km
New rear brake pads@32000km
Two new rear tires and one 17" rim. Car went thru the hole on the road, that we didn't see.

There is one thing that I don't like in Estonian winter: Car cools down real fast, it takes less than a hour to fully cool down the engine...... and you cannot take corners with winter as fast as you could with summer tires + 18" rims... but I still managed to make my wife fall onto my lap when I drove home...

Otherwise engine is good, car is superb, fuel comsumption average 18-19mpg and only one speeding ticket

 

man, you sure run your tank into the E, don't you?

 

Actually at this level, there still is 8 litres in it.

If the level shows below E, shows as empty as it can be, then there still is 4 litres of gas in the tank.

Someone told me that if gas tank becomes really really low then CEL becomes on, but I haven't tested it and don't want to test that.

RX-8 engineers have thought a lot about the fuel consumption and start warning very very early

 

that's very informative about the fuel, have had some nail biting times whilst travelling long distance where petrol stations dont seem to exist. Got my 8 on 19.000km's now on 83.000km's and no major replacing of anything done till date. so far so good.
