noise during hard turn

every time i make a hard 90 degree at an intersection at around 40 mph w/ the traction control on, i experience some kind of noise from one of my rear wheels. is it simply the traction control saving me from sliding off the turn?

It's the rear differential binding. Change the differential fluid.
