saw a fold in car audio system that comes with a computer in pimp my ride recent episode. anyone have any idea how they do it? what system is that? i think it will fit the new RX8 console.

 

The last I recall the used DriveSoft .. it's a relatively expensive and not-customizeable software, though should be very easy to run. There are lots of more customizeable solutions for CarPCs you can check out at the Forums at www.mp3car.com... they even sell an in-dash computer+screen with their own software, though I don't know what the "new" rx8 dash looks like.. you should check some car computer threads though, it's way cheaper to build this stuff on your own and you'd get a lot more from it (including the experience), this is my install:

i was looking at the new Sony viao UX that come with a interface keyboard, Built-in Fingerprint Sensor, camera, touch screen, bluetooth, wi-fi, 4.5 inch and plenty cool stuffs that cost around US$900. is it worth it?
the only downside is it cannot play DVD/VCD/CD

I have vista Rc 1 don't bother, it sux. That Sony is sweet but how would you mount it?

 

Touchscreens CAN replace the mouse -- I do not use a mouse in the car at all, only the screen. How/where you mount the screen and computer is entirely up to you, I honestly bought a car with the OEM nav just so I could replace it with a computer.
