Endura Tech coilovers for RX-8/MX-5

Category: Steering & Suspension
Price: $1000
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Others, Series I, Series II
Location (US State/Canada/Int): TX
Item Condition: Used

(Stock pic)

For sale: 1 full set of Endura Tech ETC-MRX800 coilovers. These have been on my RX-8 for the last 10,000 miles. They have one season of autocrossing and about 500 track miles on them.

These coilovers will fit any ‘04+ RX-8 or ‘06+ MX-5. With these coilovers my car took 2nd & 3rd at the Texas SCCA National Tour, won STX in Texas Region SCCA (against cars equipped with much pricier shocks), and consistently runs under the existing TTD lap record at MotorSport Ranch. There are better coilovers available, but not at anything close to this price.

Fully threaded steel bodies with independent height and preload adjustments (set ride height and preload independently – no need for helper springs). Twin tube, rebound adjustable (ten detented settings).

Included spring rates:
  • Front: 8 kg/mm (448 lbs/in)
  • Rear: 5 kg/mm (280 lbs/in)

Other rates are available from Endura Tech if you want them.

I’m asking $1000 for the set. That includes everything in the picture shown above – front coilovers with front upper mounts, rear coilovers (reuse stock upper mounts), spanners, shock adjustment tool, and rear shock adjustment extension cables.

Why am I selling? I had a big off at MotorSport Ranch in October and thought I’d blown a front shock. Endura Tech made me a good deal on a full replacement set, so I bought them. Turns out my problem was actually a bad tie rod and alignment. No damage or leaks present on any of the shocks. My loss is your gain.

That’s right – I like these shocks so much I bought another set!

ill give you $500 plus shipping...seeing that these arent brand new and have 10,000 miles plus track abuse this is a reasonable price..$1000 is steep seeing that i can buy new ones for that much and probably better ones. let me know ill work with you..

Endura techs are good coilovers, given their retale price of 1450$ maybe 1000$ is a bit off but 500$ is pure lowballing.
There's nothing in the 1000$ range NEW that's worth a shot btw, just crappy coilovers that are good for car shows

If they Were Brand new with 0 miles i would say 500 is lowballing...seeing as they have over 10k on them plus some track use, i dont think so..400 off for used is lowballing...would u buy a fully built car when u know its been abused for a couple hundred off?

I asked Endura Tech this question directly and they offered to sell me new ones for $865 "SEMA special sale":

Date: Mon, 13 Dec 2010
From: NHK Endura <sales@endura-tech.com>
[...]
The retail price was $1,470 excluding freight and handling fee.
Now we have a SEMA special sale and your price is $865 plus shipping and handling.
[...]
Best regards,
Ken Matsubara
NHK Endura-Tech
So $500 is probably a reasonable offer.

^^ OP posted full review here: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-racing-25/endura-tech-coilovers-178106/

My impression from that review and other things I've read (including fact OP bought another set!) is that they kick the snot out of Tien.

Seems to me Tien Flex exists so one can say they have coil-overs, drop their ride height and certainly get better street handling, but Endura-Techs are for actual high-performance (track, autocross) driving. I could be wrong.

^Which is why they are worth more than $500. Especially when people pay $800 for a used set of Megans which have to be one of the worst coilovers out there..

Probably because - as I mentioned in my original post - email is the best way to get I touch with mr, since I can't log onto this forum at work.

Anyway, Ken is offering you a really good price on a new set. I tell you what - last weekend I decided I'm going to build another car for next season (STR just looks like too much fun, especially in my Division), so I'm actually in the process of putting my car back to stock. Therefore, I now have TWO sets of coilovers to get rid of.

In light of ET's special SEMA pricing, here's what I'm asking:

$550 for the set I posted originally (10k miles, 1 season track and autocross).

$700 for the second set - fronts have 1k miles, 1 autocross and 60 track miles, rears are BRAND NEW, never even taken out of the box.

As mentioned above, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL. I just typed this reply out on an iPhone, and now my thumbs are cramping.

Happy holidays everyone!

Ok thats all good n **** but i dont think these are worth 1k for some coilovers with 10,000+ miles on them, and 500 track miles..who knows how much abuse theyve been through. Not to mention the fact that he had a tie rod problem so that put more stress on the coilovers..i have no problem giving him a decent amount for the coilovers..ut im not getting pwned..ENDURA COILOVERS MAY BE WORTH THE MONEY BUT THESE ARENT WORTH WHAT HE IS ASKING..

How would you compare these to the Ohlins road & track? Given the price i may just bite on this offer if you're willing to ship (the "new" ones). I am tired of blowing cheap shocks at the track, they're great 'till you start using sticky tyres!

Used set is still up for grabs!

Never driven an RX8 with Ohlins, so I can't compare. Sorry!

I was quite happy with these and quite competitive against cars with much more expensive shocks. I'd love to think it was all talent, but I've been beaten in my own car often enough to know that I'm no Vettel.

New set is sold. Thanks!

Used set still available for $550 firm plus shipping. To everyone who has emailed ms with various offers of $500 - c'mon guys. When I originally got these the MSRP was twice what it is now. $550 is more than fair for what I'm offering. You can't even get a new set of Tokicos for that little.

Thanks for looking!
