OH Wtb 2009-2011 r3

Year: 2011
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $20000
Mileage: 50000
Color: red, black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): OH

Thanks to a distracted driver on 4/8/2023 who used my car and the one in front of me to come to a stop at an intersection, I'm back in the market for another RX-8. Mine was a 2009 R3, so I'm looking to replace it with another R3. Let me know if you have one that you're considering letting go. I'm looking for a lower mileage, well maintained example. I'm not too picky about color. Definite preference for an R3, though I might also consider sport models (6MT only). I'm not interested in a GT model or a series 1. I prefer something stock or close to it. I'm in southwest Ohio, but would travel for the right car.

Thanks,
Tom

I have one that I would reluctantly consider selling after I take it to the tail of the dragon this month. I purchased this with the intent to experience the dragon and then sell to make some money on. I was hoping for 25k. 2011 red with 59k. Super clean almost perfect. new coils, wires (BHR) and plugs. Installed a magnaflow high flow cat when i discovered the stock one was going.

instagram.com/k_otic_r3 for some pics. Not in a rush to sell but I just saw this post. I am in northern ky so we are close.

Xander, any chance this one is yours? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...omments-anchor

Winner of that one has a very similar screen name to yours. It rang a bell for me as I commented on the front plate mounting.

$17k is way more in line with an appropriate value imo. For reference I purchased my clean titled 2009 r3 with some 55,xxx original miles for $10k in 2019.

Sorry to hear about your accident. GL with your search and hopefully you steer clear of price gougers.

yep that’s mine.. I’ve got $20k in it now after everything.. no hurry to sell. It’s super clean. Come take a look. It’s almost too clean like ifs
been in a time capsule for 10 years.

i wish I had bought one a couple years ago when they were around that price. I paid 17k for mine. $850 fee to bring a trailer, then it needed a CAT so i
did that and the whole ignition ,
tinted windows.. I have $20k In it and told my wife when I bought it that I’d keep
it till it was worth 25 and sell

Yeah 2017-2019 was when we were at lowest price point for low milage series 2 rx8's. The days of low priced R3's is long gone simply because of inventory.

Xander decided to keep his for now, so I’m still looking.

Let me know if you have one you want to let go.

Thanks for the response, but I’d prefer to stick with a stock body car.

Any pictures? How many miles are on it? 6MT? I’m not interested in anything with the AT and would prefer to stick with series 2 (either sport or R3) but might consider series 1.

Recent R3 sales

If anyone has recently purchased an R3 and wouldn’t mind sharing location, price paid and miles on it, I’d appreciate the data. Currently working thru the fair market price with the insurance on mine and additional data points could help counter their lowball value.

I’d pull up the Bring a Trailer sales figures for the last 2 years. You’ll have mileage, location, and price.

I thought about asking my insurance to cover my r3 for up to a certain price and charge me accordingly. Not sure if thats somthing that they do.

Who's your provider if you don't mind me asking? I had issues in the past with AAA doing this sort of things. My roommate had State Farm, her car was the same as mine, and in the same fire. She was taken care of, AAA strung me along for over a year and only coughed up 3/4 of the value of the car.

Incident that happened to myself and many others. I had a 93 R1, my roommate has a 94 Base. I got 16k, she got 25k.

This is also why I have State Farm now, that was the coverage she had for her FD.

I'm dealing with the insurance company for the person who hit me. Ironically, it's State Farm.

After finally getting the insurance to agree to a decent settlement, I decided to just buy my car back and have it fixed. So I'm not longer looking for a replacement. Thanks for all of the responses.
