Negativity breeds negativity. Some people are unhappy and they want to push that unhappiness on other people.

When deep in your heart you know a law is wrong and your legislators won't listen to you to correct that error, your only recourse is Civil Disobedience.

I don't know which is more delusional:
Spending $1000 on A CAT out of fear for compliance with the law or out of a desire to protect the environment.

To bring this all to the top for the OP:

This OT discussion is a roundabout way of looking at the balance of integrity and the difference between being compliant and ethical.

The implication that your AP is somehow better than the other used APs for sale out there because it comes with something from me when it doesn't for both practical and legal reasons is ethically challenged.

What's interesting is that the OP hasn't signed on in a month and ya'll are using his dead thread as a battleground.

This is an awesome for sale thread.

I'd expect some of this stuff in a craigslist ad, but you shouldn't try to bullshit people on a forum dedicated (in theory) to spreading as much information about this car, including products for it. While I'm sure someone on this forum might not know what was wrong with this ad, most people could rather quickly spot and comment on the 250 hp claim as well as the use of mazdamaniac's maps as some sort of benefit. Now, if it was the MM service, that's different.

You're a fine one to play the delusional card. How about maximum performance in a racing class that requires a certain level of emissions compliance. Since you previously posted that a cat converter is a guaranteed loss of power on an RX-8 then having one that provides near zero back pressure must surely make sense. Particularly since that particular one can support up to 400 hp, which may be eventually planned in the future.

The brazen cockiness of some people that there's no need to be discreet is amazing. For all you know a federal prosecutor has already posed as a n00b buying a product from you asking all the right questions to document your legal culpability in the future. Your numerous postings on this forum alone probably make that a moot point anyway.

I suppose you can also play the negativity card on the victims of willful, intentional environmental irresponsibility. Sure if people immediately die or are harmed for life it's obvious, but we often overlook the slow incremental damage until it's too late.

And let's not forget, your position is based on a few hp at peak rpm, a place where most street cars rarely spend any time. That's delusion for you ...

Not to mention that your program are locked anyway, so the whole copyright baloney that started this parade made that blustering post moot

I see plenty and keep my mouth shut more than some people realize. Let me know if you guys want to keep digging the hole deeper.

Racing is a different story.
That is a game in which you willingly participate. No one mandates your attendence, so your compliance with the rules is part of what makes the game interesting for you. Why do you think so many of your peers cheat?

Wouldn't matter to me.
The only person that it matters to is the person that installs the part or calibration.
On my own car, they would have to come and see it for themselves. Nothing else constitutes evidence.
And I'm sure you realize they wont bother.

I'm not gonna do the whole AGC thing here. There is another thread about that BS.

My base calibrations are not locked. But they do contain a copyright notice that you must accept when you install the file and press the "OK" button.

For all I CARE a federal prosecutor has done what you mention. Big deal. I have actually set foot on the blue carpet in federal court while assisting as legal counsel in a lawsuit against a sitting judge. For behaviors he exhibited/exercised while on the bench. He had to pay us $55,000 in damages.

I helped prepare the legal argument, the brief in support, and filed the documentation in the case.

You think I am afraid of the feds after all the **** I have been through?

So in summation:

I'm willing to go as high as 350 shipped for the accessport in question. I don't mind if there's any maps or not (If there are, I won't tell anyone ; D).

Failure can often be the precursor to success, which is why persistence is so important.
I read that from my fortune cookie last time I went to Panda Express. The other one I got said, "Shut the Hell up, you are wearing out peoples' cell phone batteries."

I always wanted a Cobb AP, but I gotta admit... when I see a for sale thread... MM comes in and drop of a fawking kamikaze in there, 'bla bla bla belongs to me / my property / da da da nothing you can do if you buy it from him, buy it from me / yada yada yada, that is against the law / dur dur dur I will not support the buyer of this item since it is not purchase from me. G0d d@mn man, you are in the community with us rx-8 enthusiast, can't you keep it down and give us a break. We understand you want your freaking $$ but geesus fawking khrist man, you are hella annoying when it comes to Cobb AP for sale thread. You always try discourage others and me to buy one from the person instead of you but I could careless about your opinions.

How much for the Cobb AP to 78754?

No, I can't

If someone is going to openly an cavalierly steal from me, I'm just supposed to do you a favor?
I don't want your money. I also don't want my intellectual property to be used by other people to help leverage their sales.
And quite a few people (like yourself) don't seem to understand this.
Why should my name and my files be used to help someone else make money? It makes no sense.
