Maxim Works / AutoEXE Header

Category: Engine - Exhaust
Price: $1
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I, Series II
Location (US State/Canada/Int): NC
Item Condition: Used

For sale is my Maxim Works header.

Header is in perfect working condition, no cracks or leaks. Maxim Works manufactures this same header for AutoExe. It features a beautifully done merge collector. Take a look at the pictures. The outlet flange requires a 2.92" ID ring gasket so I modified a new Mazda ring gasket by removing a few of the inner layers and it will be included with the sale. The OE header doesn't have that lip that this header does, but this lip acts as an extra seal against the lip of the midpipe inlet flange. The support bracket is not included, but the stock bracket does a good job as a place for the header to rest on and allows for expansion / contracting with the heat cycle.

There shouldn't be any issues with CELs if installed properly. No need for a re-tune as the dynamics of the engine won't change much, but a good tune is always a good thing, especially if the cat has been removed.

Installing the header won't in itself cause a CEL, but if you delete the cat or remove the air pump it will cause a CEL.

Installing a header does change the volumetric efficiency of the engine so to take advantage of it you need a tune, otherwise it's a worthless modification.
