*SOLD* 2008 40th Anniversary Edition
Year: 2008
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $4000
Mileage: 61500
Color: Metropolitan Gray Mica
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): VA
Location: Northern VA
The good:
This is a 3-owner car with no accidents. The vehicle has a newly installed remanufactured transmission, newly installed reman motor and new power steering rack. I have full maintenance records on hand. Brakes are also fairly new, with <1,000 miles on them. The interior has normal wear and tear but is overall in good condition. No major rips in the seats, no drooping headliner, and so on. Everything on the vehicle is functional (AC, stereo, windows, heated seats, etc.) The paint on the vehicle is similarly in good condition, with minor chips here and there; pretty much what you’d expect for a 13 year-old car. Wheels have some curb rash. Reliability mods include the Sohn adapter and a BHR ignition system.
The bad:
The car needs a new lower intake valve replaced (the APV). This was diagnosed by a Mazda dealership and I’ve confirmed the issue. It’s a $90 part, but replacing it will require removing the entire lower air intake, which is pretty labor intensive. The car doesn’t make good power due to this issue. This is currently my 2nd car and I’d rather sell it than fix it, so that’s why she’s up for sale.
The mods:
TurboXS catback exhaust
BHR ignition system
AEM cold air intake
Sohn adapter kit and oil reservoir
Axial Flow short-throw shifter
Morimoto LED fog lights
Full LED tail lights (replaced the factory tails that are in some of the photos)
Rear LED rotary brake light
LED parking lights
LED footwell lights
Bluetooth adapter
Also included is the BHR straight pipe. Great for shooting flames in between gears.

Wish I was closer, I'd be on this. GLWS

Only rust that I'm aware of is on the mufflers. Looks superficial to my untrained eye. I'll see if I can get a shot from underneath the car, but it'll be tough as I don't have a lift...

So how much does the dealer want to replace the apv? The car as displayed could probably sell for x2 if sorted out. It makes no sense as to why you would not pay the dealer to get this done and sell the car in good running order.
