Muffler Delete Race Pipe
Category: Engine - Exhaust
Price: $40
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): KS
Item Condition: Used
EDIT: This will require one of two things to fit your car - add a flange to the stock slip joint, or get a slip coupling and cut off this flange. On my car there is a flange that has been added to the stock slip joint, this flange is attached with clamps so that it is removable if desired. Either of these options should be easy to have done at your exhaust shop of choice for not much money.

Legend In My Own Mind
I'm guessing it works with a specific aftermarket catback. The factory one has a slip fitting but my HKS HI-Power has a similar flange in a similar place to this one.

Guys, a quick look online at Racing Beat's website clearly shows their catback muffler as a bolt on with a flange, not a slip fitting.
I'll verify under my 2005 in a little bit once I leave the office, but I'm pretty sure the factory muffler and tailpipe assembly bolts on with a flange. I don't have an aftermarket cat back, it's all stock.

I'm 99% sure stock does not have a flange. Only reason for the 1% is I haven't had stock exhaust in years lol.
But I KNOW my agency power does not have a flange.
Also* A quick look at that racing beat exhaust shows that the flange on you race pipe and that muffler is not the same..

That racing beat picture is only of half the exhaust, you also get another pipe the bolts up to the cat.
If you look here it shows the other piece. It also shows what looks like a crush or slip fitting near the stock muffler.

Ok, after looking under the car there is in fact a flange......that is clamped to the original slip fitting. Obviously the previous owner added a flange so he could easily switch between mufflers. I'm dropping the price to $150 to allow the next owner to either get a flange made at the local exhaust shop, or buy a slip coupling to install it OEM style.

I was gonna say....
"Does that come right off the header?" Damn a side-pipe would be sick but you'd be deaf afterwards.
But OP clarified.
I'd imagine you'd loose a **** ton of bottom end running open header.
(What bottom end?)

Hey Jim, how's it going? I miss your RX-7 track kill stories on Pelican. I've had my RX8 close to a year, it's my reliable DD to compliment my revolving garage.

I see you on BF.c as well.
Rarely track the 7 anymore, been meeting up with a bunch of Pelicans (some ex Pelicans like me) on the Dragon every year instead. Take the 7 up to NC at least 2x year, now the 8 is getting rotation into that fun.
Sorry for the hijack but at least it is a bump.
