Sco and I haven't decided on a name for the soon to be released ODBII / CAN scan tool, that will work with RX-8s and other vehicles with the "CAN".
If you come up with the name that is choses by the judges, you efforts will be rewarded with...

- The product name you came up with appearing on the product. See the splash screen below. Value: Pricless!
Rules
- Hymee and Sco are the sole judges of the competition.
- The "rights" to the name (however that is applicable) will transfer to Hymee ad Sco, in consideration for the prize offered.
- Post your suggestions here. This list will be monitored, and the winner selected from here.
- Competition closes Midnight (GMT), Friday 17th December 2004.
- Winner will be advised via forum PM and announced on this thread.
- Prize will ship when product is released to public.
Some other things to consider...
- Names etc. don't necessarily have to contain "Hymee", "Hymee Enhanced", "Hymee Enhanced Design" or "Sco". (Obviously, Sco would like it if his name was in there somewhere.)
- The product is a diagnostic scan tool and data logger utilising CAN communication protocols and conforming to ODBII standards.
- The product will work with vehicles other than RX-8s, althought we are "customising" it for RX-8's.
- Other vehicles with CAN will be able (should be able) to work with the product. For example, it has been tried on RX-8s (in Europe, Aust., and the USA), as well as Mazda3 and Mazda6.

Couple other tips for the name:
- It doesn't have to contain "Sco"
- It can't contain "CanScan" - this is trademarked
- In fact, it can't be any other registered or trademarked name
We reserve the right to not pick any name if no-one comes up with one which appeals to us in which case it will be probably, boringly, called "Scan Tool". I'm sure someone here will come up with a good one though!

Well how about this... a name for 40 minutes
1) we need a word "scan" at the end.
2) The scan list section of the engine datas. (intake air temp, rev, etc.)
3) Have to have engine into it.
4) Engine is rotary so I guess there must be something to do with it.
The best I can come up with is Rotortome scan. (or the R-scan for short)
Since:
Rotor = rotary engine; and it starts with an R
Tome = sections / part of the prefix (like dermatome - sections/specific area of the skin, usually refer to nerve distribution)

For longterm purposes, you need to stick with the basics. This means:
- No reference to rotary
- Hymee word doesn't make sense to anyone unfamiliar to Hymee from RX8club
- Scan is vague
- CAN bus will be the new fad when all cars will have them (2007)
With this in mind, my entry will be "AutoCAN: The only Scanning Tool you'll ever need from now on." or just plain AutoCAN, Auto-CAN, whichever.
Good luck on your final choice!

Multiple entries / names are permitted (within reason - don't post a dictionary).
