^Some tune.... you make it sound easy lol. How many people on these forums are pushing those numbers at 10psi with the GT3071R, lol?

Anyways, can't wait to see Kane's finished project.

400 g/sec or 400rwhp on a GT3071R? If you're claiming 400rwhp, no way. The compressor is nowhere near powerful enough to yield that even on a 10:1 motor. You'd have to run close (if not over) 30psi of boost and overspin the hell out of this thing to get even close. Way too small of a turbo.

Not trying to derail the thread, but I would like to understand what I'm missing.

Perhaps MM or Kane could take a second to explain how 400 g/s is attainable at 10 PSI on the GT3071R?

With my admittedly quickly done and halfassed calculations, I got the green dot on the attached map... why is this not the case?

I would like to understand, so please, no smartass responses.

That is why I keep bugging him for a dyno . Maf readings can be a good guide to whp but only if verified on a dyno .

In my case I pretty much know exactly how much power I'm making when I log MAF because I have several dyno runs to compare against actual maf readings .

400WHP at 10 PSI on the GT3071R is not attainable on this motor.

Assume for airflow purposes we are running a 2.6 liter engine (since we don't have a dead stroke) and redo your math - I personally am aiming for 15PSI or so for my high power pull; and I'll be wicked stoked if I get close to 400WHP.

From what i've learnt from you and MM and others it would seem more logical that all that work you have done will get you more power at a lower psi but you can't make the turbo flow more air than the above chart indicates .

I'm glad it's up and running, Kane. You guys did a good job on the install and ya'll didn't seem to get too filthy. I remember doing my first stock build on an Rx8 by myself and it took me forever. The one part that kicked my butt were the top passenger-side corner bell-housing bolts!!

Well I'm jealous now. I really need to get mine built and back on the road. It's been too damn long.

Compressor maps are also derived with compressors in laboratory conditions that tend to favour better numbers than what we'd see in the real world. One example: These are done with usually colder-than-room to room intake air temperatures (IAT's). However, figure most of us car enthusiast guys run an air filter either straight on the compressor or with a small inlet duct that's still keeping an air filter inside the engine bay. With that, you're looking at an even lesser efficient compressor with it drawing in much, much hotter temps.

Same thing with me...I know that 284 g/s = 255 whp. So whatever g/s I log I just set it up in a porportion and I can figure out roughly my rwhp. So I know that my log of 369 g/s is equivalent to around 330 rwhp.

I will redo my math as you suggested, but I'm not even talking about 400 RWHP, I'm talking about 400 g/s airflow, which can be mapped out only knowing the pressure ratio, which at 10 PSI should be about 1.8...

Am I doin' it wrong? (In before LOLCats )
