Talking New Axis Reverb wheels are on

Hey guys. I just got my new Axis Reverb wheels in anthracite mounted. There was a deal on them that I just could not pass up. I used the stock Potenzas for now since they're still good.

I know I desperately need a drop. That's coming, but I have to do mods in baby steps or the wife will not be happy. The strakes are going soon. They really don't go with the finish of the wheels the way they went with the stock silver alloys.

Specs are: 18x8.5" all around +35 offset. Wheels weigh 20 lbs. That's 2 lbs. lighter than stock.

I like them. They look good... <UsingTheForce> and the gray will match the accent color of the MazdaSpeed kit when you put one on </UsingTheForce>

You are 100% correct man. If money were no object, I would have had the Mazdaspeed kit on from day one. We should have another meet at the Spectrum. I think there are a couple more South OC county members since the last time.

Yeah... We'll have to do that. I'll PM you and see what we can figure out.

Looks fantastic with those wheels! Really appreciating white 8's these days.

BTW, how are you finding the +35 mm offset? My SPYN wheels are +40 and I feel a difference. Are you getting used to it?

+35 offset feels a little better than the stock +50. The car tracks a tad better, but I'm not sure if it is the difference in offset or the lighter wheels.

Whatever reason, it does feel better.

Ok thanks. My wheels are 25 rather than 22 lbs so a bit heavier.

by the way, did you feel any handling difference after your offset became 35 from stock 50? did you buy new tires to fit or just used the stock tires?

you should add your pics to the calling all Axis owners thread. i'm planning on joining that club myself too. i'm getting the Axis Matrix wheels tomorrow. so far i've only seen one other 8 with them on this site.

on a side note, i thought those reverbs were lighter than that?

Axis Reverbs are 20 lbs. for the 18x8.5 wheels. That's one reason I went with these over the Hiros. I'll post pictures in the "Calling all Axis owners" thread when I get my Tein springs installed next week.

Thanks. I love the MS kit, but it's out of the wife's car mod allowance. I might just get the appearance package and call it a day, but the R-magic sides and front spoiler are very, very nice.

Those are stock 225's. I can't wait until these are worn out so I can get wider tires.

Opens the door just a bit to learn something ...

So if I get the Axis Reverbs in 18x8.5 and keep the stock tires (225/45/18) for now and am lowered on eibachs, what is a reasonable size tire to go in the future?

... closes door and waits for an answer
