Not to be the first to post, but I saw a Phantom Blue in Loveland driving west on HWY 34 still had temp tags. I was in My Miata so they probably didn't see me. The color looks GOOD in person!

Wow, that is some color! Looks great. Someone said it looked green in certain lights, and I was going to call them colorblind, but now I see what they meant. But that looks REALLY good.

Oh my! I'll take one! Reminds me of the color of my 1972 Toyota Celica. I loved that color.

Thumbs up

It is blue... yet... it is green...

looks good, maybe some one have a picture of phantom blue and winning blue side by side to show the difference in color, or the same day/dealership... so they would be in the same light condition...

(hopefully some one can do that for Galaxy Gray and Titanium Gray, copper red and velocity red also)

I wasn't planning on getting the Phantom Blue because the color sample on the website looks ugly. But in person, my jaw dropped. The photos I took don't even capture the range of blues and greens that you can see.

Yeah, I remember seeing that too, but I guess I didn't realize how big of a difference it was.

that does not even look like the same car, that is amazing.

but does it at any time look like that goofy color changing paint that Chevy tried for a year or two. that stuff was really bad.

the mazda paint looks great, I want to see one of these phantom blues in person now.

But Chevy used that paint that at differenet angles ranged from purple to blue to green and everything in between. To me it just looked bad, now I see a bunch of old chevies and big hoopty cars painted with it around here, in differenet varieties from golds to the purples. Just not my taste.

They have one at UMazda in Seattle. I saw one and it looks sweet. Its very 2 tones yet looks very cool. Unlike anything on the road.

Also liked the keyless start. Pretty snazzy. Wish I could have one on my 04

I saw a ford taurus or some other piece of crap ford the other day painted in that color, along with gigantic super-mega-ultra chromed rims, it looked SO ugly and riced out I felt like taking a hammer to it.

I've seen the phantom blue on a mazda 5 and in low light or setting sun it looks positively pine green, it looks about 5 times better on the 8 though

wow this post is really thin. I'm thinking of going with this color if i can order an 8. It looks good. My current one is velocity red aka HEY LOOK AT ME red. A more subtle color might be a nice change.

What models and years did this color come in? Didn't see it available for 2006 at all and I don't think it is tied to a Shinka package although it should be. Very nice, unique...
