warranty question

Ok, I am having a popping/clunking sound when turning at slow speeds.
Similar to these, https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/helllp%7E%7E-clunk-when-turning-187842/ and https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/front-end-noise-popping-creaking-suspension-motor-mount-183865/ .

I have searched and it could be quite a lot of different things causing it. I am still under the bumper to bumper warranty so I called and asked the dealership what they would do, they said $105 to inspect it and if its under warranty I would have that refunded and it would be fixed free.

Something like this couldnt possibly be labeled as "normal wear and tear" could it? Pretty much no matter what it is I cant imagine having to replace parts after only 23k miles and it costing me money.

The general consensus is it could be a ball joint, cv joint, front anti sway bar, sway bar bushings, loose lugnuts(checked that), or not properly tourqued lugnuts(cant check that).

My basic question is, should any of that be covered under the warranty if it has failed? I dont know what parts they can say are subject to normal wear and tear after so little miles, which is why I am asking. also everything is bone stock, never changed anything on the car.

Under bumper to bumper they should look at and fix anything like that for free. Try another dealer.

Normal wear and tear would be stuff like brake pads and clutch after a year. Also, there may be a 1 year limit on "adjustments." The warranty book should be reasonably clear on what's not covered.

I cannot imagine anything clunking in the front end that would be normal wear and tear or adjustment.

IMHO, when you call the dealer for something like this you shouldn't ask what they'll do. You should tell them what it's doing and make an appointment to bring it in. If they start to talk of charge, tell them it's under warranty. If they persist, make a scene. Also, under B-B they're supposed to give you a loaner if they need to keep the car.

Ok thanks for the info, I would look for another dealer but theres just the one in las vegas that I know of. There was at one point 2 owned by the same company but they sold off their ties with mazda to the GMC dealership out here now.

They just basically told me if I brought it in I would have to sign a form promising I would pay $105 for an inspection before they would even look at it, and then they would decide if I owed them or not. Seems kind of shady to me, but its either that or not have it looked at lol.
