Thoughts on Front Plate Mounting
Just looking for some thoughts on this mounting position. The plate is not blocking the Oil Cooler. However I am positive it is causing turbulence that is not meant to be there. Obviously I would remove this if I was track driving but anyone think this will cause issues in daily driving?
PS: I know the plate belongs in the trunk ... but I am tired of getting pulled over.

Thread moved , not a DIY.
Not knowing all the US State laws, but IMO where your plate is looks awful...by oil cooler.
If you have to have a front plate then in the middle where it is meant to be IMO looks better.
Pity you don't appear to have what we call 'slim line' plates, just with rego number and state logo, about 3.5 inches by 11.

You are correct about the slim plates, they are not available. Regarding the center mount it breaks up the appearance of the front end and makes the car look like a rabbit. This is why most people who are required to mount a front plate are always looking for an alternative to the center mount. IMO this doesn't look "good" but its better than centered. Apologies for the failed thread location too.

Like we said, SEARCH... If you had, you wouldn't need to start this silly thread. There are a few existing long threads with discussions of front plates' location, not having front plates, and affects of having front plates. And as EricB pointed out, there are pictures! Because when we read your post, we already thought to ourselves:
"This forum is a decade old with, probably, more members than your city of Aberdeen. I've already read at least two good threads discussing this, why didn't this guy search instead of starting a new post?!" So.... PLZ

Not going to argue about it. I have seen the threads didn't like what I saw so I put the plate where I wanted it. The question was about disrupting air flow, it wasn't for opinions or trolling or we are so smart we can use the search button. I got the answer I needed from the FD forum easier to get an answer there instead of nonsense irrelevant posts.

Come on guys, give the him a break....
We don't want to turn members away..do we???..if you don't want to help then say nothing.
'rice' perhaps give your local "Maryland" transport department a contact to offer real alternatives?..have to start somewhere.
These are some of the choices I have in my state down under.

I bought one of those manual flip plates. I leave it down when driving and flip it up when I'm parked. So far I haven't been pulled over for it doing it this way but I did get a fixit parking ticket when I forgot to put it up once. But have not have gotten a parking ticket yet for it when it's flipped up. I live in California so they are pretty strict.
I think I posted a pic in the past but can post another if you need to see it.
