shift boot and center cup heat issue?

Hello fellow rx8 owners! I had a quick question which hopefully you S2 owners could answer for me. Just wanted to give you feed back on my car well I have a 2010 r3 with around 7000kms no issues to date.

My situation is when driving my 8 when its hot outside is it normal for the shift boot area to get hot and also were the center cup holders are it get a little hot as well. I just want to know if this is normal? or is this a major issue? and should I take it back to mazda for them to fix it?

Thanks ladies and gents hope to hear some responses!

or make sure to put 75% more ice in your iced coffee so after 10 minutes 80% will melt

Like wow I totally have the same issues with my iced skinny sugar free vanilla latte with extra whip like every morning! Sorry, had to say it.

Totally normal man. If you were Superman and had x-ray vision you would see that the tranny is basically right under it, hence the warmth.

I put my drinks in the back cup holders. Couple reasons. One from the heat in the front ones, and second because they get in the way for shifting. I keep hitting what ever is in the front cup holders with my arm. So, in the back they go.

I would vote for this as the RX8Club's Understatement of the Year
