S2 Car Weights?

Anyone weigh their cars (S2)?

If I recall correctly, S1 Sport models weighed significantly less than Touring and GT.

Im wondering if anyone has weighed their cars yet so we can see the difference in Sport, GT, R3?

My R3 was 3035 lbs when it was corner balanced (with a half tank of fuel and a car seat for my daughter).

Edit: Sorry, I'm getting old. I just checked my corner balancing sheet and updated this post with the correct weight (it wasn't 3060 as I initially said). That's what I get for going off my memory.

According to Wikipedia (doesn't make it true) S2's are about 90 lbs lighter

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-8

"For 2009, Mazda engineers improved the RX-8 body rigidity through the addition of structural reinforcements, by adding a trapezoidal strut tower bar and enhancing the local rigidity of the front suspension tower areas. Also, the rear suspension geometry has been reconfigured for better handling performance and for improved driveshaft rigidity, lowering NVH levels and improving overall performance. The 09 RX-8 is also (90 lbs) lighter than the previous RX-8 models."

I also remember someone mentioning a sport model weighing in at 27xx, I'm fairly sure it was an S2 but I cant find the damn thread.

Mazda lists the MY2010 weight at 3064 for a manual equipped car. I'll be very suprised if someone's S2 came in under 3000 lbs when fully stock and with fluids.

Manual: 1309–1373 kg (2888–3029 lb)
Auto: 1384 kg (3053 lb)

Those are S1 Curb weights (AKA full fluids etc), so if that 90 lbs less excerpt is accurate, its possible.

Yeah, they list that as "with popular options," whatever that means. I've been wondering how my GT with everything but nav fits in there. I'm guessing the 3064 lbs. is about where I'm at.

Mazda has been caught lying many times, so I'm not inclined to believe the 90 lbs less for the S2 thing. C/Ds first test of a stripper RX-8 in 03 had the lowest curb weight I've seen--2940 (full tank). That would put the base S2 at 2850. Nothin' doin!

See post #2 of this thread (my 09 R3 was 3035 lbs on a set of corner-balancing scales).

Mazda Australia shows the S2 R3 as Lighter (we call it a GT) at 1379 KGs (3033 lbs)

The Aust Luxury or US GT is at 1402 KGs (3084) manual, 1412 (3106) KGs Auto.

1 kilo is 2.2 lbs approx.
