Replacement Coolant Hoses

My next preventative maintenance step is replacement of the coolant hoses in my 2010 R3. As usual the cost for these at the dealership is high.

I found an 11 hose kit from MazdaMart, but it lists for late 2004 to 2008. Spent some time searching - maybe not enough and expect a small roasting. I didn’t see the cooling system hoses listed as a change on ASH8’s excellent post regarding the difference between series nor on any other Series 2 technical forum posts.

Can anyone confirm whether the series 1 hoses are compatible with series 2 please?

Series 2 and 1 Coolant Hoses Different

So I asked Paul at MazMart if the series were compatible and guess what? There’s a difference. He recently added that hose package as an option. Now I’m waiting for the UPS truck.

Hi, super new here as well and I too have been looking for the answer for this. I was corresponding with a gentleman from stoney-racing and they confirmed differences between the S1 and S2 though couldn't pinpoint exactly what those were. Anybody know if there's a full silicone hose kit out there for the S2?

I imagine most of the hoses are compatible. There might be small differences in small secondary hoses (longer coolant bottle overflow drain?) but the basic configuration didn't change between the series. Mazda seems to use some of the big hoses on other models entirely as well.

Silicone though? Meh. I'd stick to OEM rubber.

Thanks for your insight Loki! Didn't realize there were no real benefits to going the silicone route. More food for thought!
