So on mostly cold days or first drives in the morning making tighter or full lock turns there is a loud audible popping with a slight skip at low speeds in the steering that goes away after a short period after driving.

I have an 10 S2 sport on S1 rims with 235/40-18 kumho XS tires on all 4 corners, there are no other suspension modifications.

I know the S1's had steering rack issues but has anyone had issues with the S2?

 

My 09 had a studder in the steering when turning the wheel left when at a stop or very slow forward speed. The issue would go away when I would speed up. Problem was a bad power steering rack which was replaced under my Mazda certified used car warranty.
