Need help Getting to S2 fuel injectors

Had a bad leaky injector and figured it'd be a straight forward job like the s1 injectors, but I stand corrected. The damned VDI actuator is in the way of removing the top fuel rail. It can't come out because the OMP crap is in the way. Please tell me I don't have to remove the whole LIM.... Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm already ***** deep in this.

You should be able to find a PDF of the manual. The answers to all your questions lies therein.

if the OMP assembly is in the way, then what is the issue with removing it?

THe last thing I wanna do is mess with the OMP and the brittle *** little lines, but will if I have to. Was just checking to see if anyone knew a trick or easier way, but I forgot this was rx8club snob. Nevermind ... Forget I asked. Sorry to bother you fine gentlemen.

I don't have an answer for you, I wish I did. and I would definitely try to avoid the OMP as well, it makes sense. I agree with your comments. There are many that never darken the door of this site after a few of the interchanges that go on here. Its a shame, since the answer is probably available, just not here, and not now. All the best...

not really sure why you’re having a melt down. If you’re somehow referring to me then I’d suggest that you might have read something into it that didn’t actually exist. I’ve never worked on an S2 and can’t provide any specific knowledge to you on this, but was only referring to my 47+ years of working on various cars. Sometimes you just have to do it because there’s no other choice. There’s nothing snobby about that, it’s just the way it is.

I can assure you of this though. That kind of attitude pretty much dooms from ever succeeding at achieving anything challenging. That’s not snobby either, it’s again just the way it is. Step up to the plate and do your best. You might even hit it out of the park.

Unfortunately, I do not believe there is a way to get to them without removing the OMPs. I did injector o-rings on mine a couple years ago and couldn't find a way to get them out with the OMPs still in place. You'll want to remove them, the lines can stay attached on the engine side, and probably consider getting new copper washers. Also, if I remember correctly, you can unbolt the VDI actuator and position it out of the way enough without completely removing it from the intake.

As you know this is not the same set up as the Series 1 MOP system.

In regard to removing EMOPs,
they are mounted on a plate not sure you can remove this plate and keep the Two EMOP's attatched,
but you also have the 6 small plastic oil hoses going to the 6 Oil Injectors and the main supply line from
oil pump and return line going to Oil Filler black plastic drain box.

The .pdf Manual I sent link to will tell you on what you must remove.

Jumping in to say thanks for the links. I’ve saved a few copies of these and now it’s time to print to paper. I keep losing the digital versions.

I bought the $30+ engine manual from Atkins a few months back thinking it would be the blue bound version. I was trying to get a clean copy of each of the manuals. It was just printed and bound in a bulk three ring binder. Since then, I've just printed off the manuals and bound them myself.
