Auto AC vs Manual Differences

Auto AC vs Manual Differences
Just curious, there is a 2010 GT partout that I found that has the Auto AC controls. Other than the actual controls, any idea what else would be required to convert my existing system over? I looked at the wiring diagrams and it seems like the one major thing is the resistor pack to a power transformer coming off the blower motor. But anyone know if the evaporator is different as well?

I think the AC pump is different, also you will need a couple sensors for the cabin temp and evap.
being automatic means it keeps the cabin temp where you set it to instead of adjusting the temp of the air yourself.
not a big deal really.

The resistor will definitely be different as manual climate control models use only set blower points. The auto a/c use a **** that lets you or the computer fine tune the blower speed, but I think they probably bolt right in place. The wiring is what is going to be different.
Looks like you'll need the "a/c amplifier", solar radiation sensor, passenger compartment temp sensor, and the associated wires. Could be the wires are already in the harness and you can just plug these in. Might be worth checking it out. Everything else looks the same electrically, not sure about the a/c compressor itself.
Did you score the fog lights??!?! Any other goodies available? What color?

You should get the heated side mirrors too. I bought just the mirror lens new from the dealer, but if you can score them cheap that be good too. Unless you live somewhere they are not needed.
What would be cool is if you could swap the advanced keyless entry!

Looks like the dash was sold so the ***** are gone, no big deal because there are some available online,.... but as far as the solar/ambient sensors and the ac amp, anyone have an idea on where those would be found. I am looking online and all signs seem to point to the passenger behind the glovebox...
edit: meh, seems like more of a waste of time and effort for a little luxury, forget about it guys, thanks for the help

The solar sensor goes where that little round blank is on the right hand side of your dash by the corner. Didn't you ever wonder why that is there
I prefer manual control myself so wouldn't even attempt this.

Good stuff...that does appear to be the entire "bill of materials" for a conversion from what I've been able to determine. Prices are much less at onlinemazdaparts.com...about $900 for the lot. Worth it? Hmmm...unlikely. Although I would love to find the parts used/cheap and give it a go!
My last car had auto climate and you get very used to not touching it!

Perhaps only in the desert would it not be needed. In FL, that is the one thing I don't have on mine that I would like. I love it on my truck. Always dew on the mirrors in the morning!

Both my doors had the wiring already in the door panels so just needed two small wires to connect to the mirrors themselves.

Gee how did I miss this one, a mod must of moved it for me to S2?
Anyway Paimon, yes you need all that a little more to put the Auto Air in.
I think you also have to change the under hood gas line 'pressure switch', I am not so sure the wiring is all the same.
Compressors are all the same BTW.
