OK S2 guys...I know I am going to get flamed here by saying "why" did I not search...well....I really wanted up to date info...

There are SO many products available to Clean/Preserve Leather and Seat Leather..

There is Mink Oil...said to be good, but it is a thick type application...I have been told these types of cleaners actually do more harm that good, a build up of this Oil can actually crack the leather over time.

Then there is a UK product called Lazy Leather which is a spray on Milk type cleaner, wipe on and wipe off.

There are many Pastes, Creams, Gels and thin watery Milk type products.

So what really is the best, one which will clean and protect??

 

Hmmmmmmmm.........my research on this has not been completed.
I have used different types including the Mazda leather cleaner(which I do like), but I haven't really decided yet.
I have used:

The Mazda deluxe Leather/Vinyl cleaner as stated. Actually my favorite by far for the vinyl.

Eagle-one Nano-protectant (it was on sale with a bunch of other Eagle-one stuff).

Mequire's Gold Class Rich Leather.

Mequire's One Step vinyl/leather cleaner.


I guess I am partial to those that contain lanolin for leather and I know I'm probably not using the highest quality stuff, but it's all I have tried to this point.

I use the Meguire's Gold Class Rich Leather and my seats still look showroom new after three years of use.

 

After going through a about a half-dozen different products over the years, the one I've used for the past couple of years...and the one I prefer...is Griot's Garage Leather Care. Easy to apply, isn't greasy, doesn't give my leather an abnormal shine, and keeps it smelling like I just drove it off the showroom floor....and no, I'm not associated with them.

I have been using wolfgang on some BMW leather seats for a while now and I think it is probably the best leather conditioner I have come across. It isn't greasy and doesn't stain, has great uv protection and applies easy with a microfiber cloth. I have used the meguiars and the griots as well. Didn't like the meguiars as much and would say that griots would be my second choice after the wolfgang. The pinnacle leather conditioner is also one of the best ones out there IMHO

 

LeatherMaster or Griot's Garage are my go-to leather clean/condition products (the latter at present). A nice non-greasy matte finish.

 

Second vote for Griot's. Also not affiliated, but seems to work very nicely as stated, no build up over time. Continues to look good. Used it in my last car with leather as well.

 

I've used Zaino leather in a bottle for a long time. Smells like a leather store in my car for a week afterward. lol

I've used the Zaino system since day 1 and my s2 is now over 3 years old. Leather still feels and smells like new, there no slipperiness, no cracks and no fading. So my vote is for the Zaino leather in a bottle and leather conditioner system.

 

my 40th anny's seats look funny, my driver side is buffed and my passenger looks brand new :p

 

try conditioning the driver's seat more often, and maybe wear some softer jeans. cheers !

 

its how i bought the car i cant bring it back to how the passenger seat looks, can i?

 

a good leather person could re-tan it to match the passenger seat. you could do it yourself if you can find the right color tan
