New here: Mod questions
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, just got a 2010 R3. Not new to rotaries though, had a GenI from new until I sold it with 217k miles
Anyway, I have a question about 09+. Mazdaspeed doesn't appear to carry many accessories, and I am told by the dealer that Mazdaspeed is closing shop and going with CorkSport from here on out. I emailed CorkSport, but they have no intention of any products for 09+, stating lack of demand.
So where can I find shiny bits? Specifically a short throw kit. I know axial flow is working on one, any other companies do anything for the 09+?
Thanks!

You can get a racing beat exhaust they make it for an o9+. The short shifter I don't think anyone makes it right now. There is not to many things specifically made for the s2 really, some stuff you can make work for it like other exhausts.

Just got the car 2 weeks ago. I bough a VW CC 6 months ago, and while it was a great car it just wasn't.....fun. I took a bath on the trade (as usually happens with a 6 month old car) but with the discounts on 2010s I think I made out alright. At least good enough to make me do it.
I've certainly been having fun....

I'm not bothering for the sake of bothering. I'm bothering because I much prefer the feel and response of a short-throw. Having driven a Speed3 for 3 years (and test driving it again when I bought the R3) I'm just more comfortable with a shorter throw. It kind of amazes me that a Speed3 would have a better feeling gearbox than the RX-8, but there it is.

I put a voodoo shifter **** on and it made a world of difference. The stock shifter is so high up and the Voodoo sits very low. At ~$40 compared to a $200+ for some kind of short throw contraption it makes sense. Best mod I've done and I don't even... track it...

Gle8: the Axial flow shifter is hands down the best mod out there for our cars, honestly the thing is amazing and it's the only mod that just keeps on giving.
I recently drove an RX-8 that didn't have the SS and I was reminded of how much I love my SS.
I personally feel the OEM shifter is quite nice but when compared to the SS they just don't compare. You could add a shift **** but that's nowhere near as good.
I know Richard Paul (Axial Flow owner) is trying to work on one for the Series II and honestly I'd wait for him to release his as will be the way to go and it'll be worth the wait.
