I think if you guys paypal him, he can set aside orders for you. The 10 individuals was a MINIMUM for him to start another batch.

The new prototype looks to be an easier install than the first - once the clearance issue is taken care of, it should be a simple drop-in.

I'm curious as to how the updated short shifter will work with the synchro saver which is also on my list of things to pick up.

How long until the listings go to the site? I am interested, just in the middle of a move, and honestly not quite sure I will be keeping my 8. If I do, I am in on one of these short shifters, just picked up the RE Amemiya Carbon fiber shifter, but it needs the short shifter now to complete the look.

I am in the process of moving and do not have a place to ship the shifter at the moment. I am in for one as soon as I am settled.

Parts are starting to come off machines now.
I'm hoping to have a test unit by end of the week.
At least be ready to put one together by weekend.
If testing goes OK then we will ship all the pre-orders.

That will be the end of the pre order offer.
We will list the S2.2 on the website with the final pricing.
If your on the fence about ordering, do it now.

This unit will also fit late Mx-5 with just a small component change
Said part is ready if anyone wants it.
I'm thinking the Fiat 124 will be the same since it is a Miata under the skin.

I don't know who is going to make the DIY for this unit yet.
It really goes in so easy it's like the S1, just drop it in.

Hope I'm not getting ahead of myself here and the testing bites me in the ***.

Just tested the prototype in Jeremys' car.
All went well except the height of the lockout has to be lowered.
Those parts will be ready Monday they have to be black oxide treated.
That's done overnight,
Tues we should be putting them together.

Photo of prototype we tested today

As of right now there are 8 left. Unless we scrap one or two in final machine work.
I will be calling my dealers to see if they want some..
I think they will take most of them, so if anyone out there wants one do it now.
We will then switch over to make S1 units as those are sold out.

Maybe we should have made more? It's just that the first S2 kits we made took 4 years to sell 100. Not profitable.

BTW if you have a late Mx-5 these can fit those with just a small part change that we will be making.

Everything is machined just waiting for the parts to come back from the black oxide guy.
There are 4 left so if you need one get it now. I can already hear someone pleading
with me.

I believe he made another small modification to the final product, and is putting the shifters back together.

the shifter feels very precise - it's not super super short, but it's short enough. I'm not sure how to describe the feel though, other than tight and precise! Not that the shifter in the rx8 needed it, but it is definitely an upgrade!

They all should be out there now.
What we need is one of you computer wiz kids to make a DIY.
My talent sort of falls off right after the lathe and the mill.
You know, old guy.
I have two sons who could do it but they don't have rX8's
nor do they live close by.

I'm making S1's and S2000 now. It'll be a month before I can do S2.2 again.
