Yokohama AVS ES100
I blew a tire last night and I have to pick out some new tires in a real hurry.
Based on what im willing to spend and reviews I think these are my best option:
245/40WR18 Yokohama AVS ES100
Does anyone else have them? If I buy from tirerack.com it will come to $662 US which is like $750 canadian (im in ontario btw)
Any input before I drop 7 hundo on some rubber i've had no experience with

The ES100's are one of the best tires for dollar spent. And they will last longer than some of the real sticky and more expensive tires you could buy. I also put the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in this same mid range category.
I used to have the Yoko's on my previous VW, but decided to try the Dunlops on my 8 becuase they dominate many motorcycle racing leagues. The grip is pretty good and I've been smoking them left and right. Looks like I'll get 2 summers out of the set including about 5 track days. It's great to be able to rotate tires, unlike other rear drive cars.
Bottom line: You'll be happy with these tires, unless you are trying to find 2 seconds per lap at Road Atlanta. Then you'll need the SO-3's or Neova's. (or R compond if you do lots of track days)
