Would appreciate anyone's comments/advice on which tires...

I need to purchase new summer tires for next season and am relatively new at this....Here's how I drive and my price range would love your input...
Summer only, daily 35 minute commute each way, autocross occasionally, tear up country roads on weekends. Fairly aggressive driver.
Prefer to keep it btwn $500-650 range if possible.
on Tirerack narrowed down to :
Continental Extreme Contact DW
Hankook Ventus V12evo K110
Kumho Ecsta LE sport
Kumho Ecsta SPT
Sumitomo HTR Z III

any comments?

Continental tires are crap. Personally I would go with the Sumitomo.

I had Sumitomo before on my Mitsubishi Eclipse. They have good grip and handling. I prefer them than the rest of your other choices. Anyway, whichever you choose, i think they are just fine for summer driving.

the only tires on your list that I have used are the Kumho spt's. I have since had two sets of the Falken 452's. They are not on your list but cost about the same as the Kumho's and I like them alot better, enough to buy two sets after the Kumho's. They give up grip at the limit very smoothly not all of a sudden and they dont flat spot.

Don't speak about that which you know nothing about...

The Continental DW is a great summer tire in the dry, and it is even better in the wet.

Don't listen to this guy either. "Good grip and handling" is subjective and its something which monchie knows nothing about.

Sumitomo tires have terrible grip compared to the top summer tires...

Come on guys, if your going to give the guy advice, look in the mirror and make sure your not a complete idiot first..

That particular Continental tire pretty much slams all those others hands down. It has gotten extremely high marks by autox racers who run in street tire classes.
