Stock wheels are 18x8JJ 5.114.3 +50 offset.

If you ran 17x8 they would fit, as long as you had the caliper clearence needed. I would think 245's would fit as people have stated a 275 will fit on the stock rim.

Lot of choices for tires.

From http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 2mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 2mm

Why do you want to go down to a 17 inch rim? (unless your 8 came from the factory with the 16s)

have you seen the prices of 18in tires haha, i havnet got an 8 just yet, i have a 93 240sx that i had about 18k and over 300whp in and have been parting that out for a while and have just sold my daily driver, so i'm on the search for the perfect 8, i'd like white but they are hard to find and i cant afford a new one so i'll prob get red. but i plan on tracking the 8 and want a nice set of wheels for the track, i was considering rota torque wheels, i think they would look very nice in gold and they are availivle in 17x8 + 48, they dont offer them in 18's and more tires are availible at cheaper prices for 17's, i plan on installing tein flex coilivers so with the car lowered i think it'll look just right

There are plenty of 18 inch tires you can get for under $150 a tire. I just bought a set of Falken GR Beta FK-451 for $128 a tire.

$128 is a good price. Where did you get your tires?

Depends on what you want. Try and find a GOOD 18" max performance summer tire for less then $175-$220.

Hope you have coilovers if you plan on running 17s. I'm running Kumho MX 255/40x17 ($135) on 17x8 Kosei K1 TS wheels (45mm offset) with a 2" drop to get rid of the 4 wheel drive look. Or I guess you could run higher profile tires if you are willing to give up some handling for a smoother ride and less road noise.

Discount Tire Direct. There are other places out there as well. They sell many tires for a good price.

Define what you mean by "GOOD"? Just because it doesn't say Michelin Pilot or Potenza doesn't mean it's not good.

Like I said, it depends on what he wants. My list of "good" max performance tires is pretty short: PS2, KD, S03, MX, RT-615, R-S2. If you can live with 225s, they do have the new Falken RT-615 for $150 and the Hankook R-S2 for $142. But then again, I can get the RT-615 in 275/40x17 for $153.....
