lol no way
for the 20 i originally was searching for 19 i thought 20 would make the car look weird but there not that big looking.the rims are deep dished so it takes away from the rim size.
my brother is thinking of using my 8 wheels on his tII
but he thinks they look better on his 6.
wtf did u get the milanos ?pics

The LARGEST wheels and tires that work well with almost no compromises are:

19x8.5 (Front) Offset from 35-45 (Front) 235/35-19 Tires with 28-36psi
19x9.5 (Rear) Offset from 45-55 (Rear) 265/30-19 Tires with 32-42psi

You should run about 4-6psi more in the rear with a staggered setup...

RX8 does not accelerate!, (What are you talking about...) it is a very good car and has great performance... And with some tuning has a lot of potential; you must not be driving the same car as the rest of us...

Are these tire widths and sizes including any drop? Does anyone have some input of max. tire widths with TEIN springs and my wheels are two 19X8.5" and two 19X9.5 , 5X114.3 bolt pattern with a 38 mm offset for the front and 35 mm offset for the rear. Just wondering if what tire size will fit for sure with the TEIN springs.

Thanks and sorry for digging this up.

PS I think the RX-8 is an awsome car but really cant be compared to the 7.

Sub,

I have 275/35-18's on the back with +45mm offset wheels. I have very slight rubbing problems when I have the car full of stuff and people (basically dropped heavilly). I have not done any fender tucking. So with that in mind:

If you go 275/30-19's on the rear you will have to tuck your fenders some (about half an inch). The other thing is the tire WILL stick out a little from the wheel well. My combo is 100% completely flush with the body work. So this set-up will stick out 10mm for you.

I think 265/30-19 would work the best and won't stick out noticeable - you'll still need a little fender tucking but not much. Now, 255/35-19's (very unpopular size) would be completely flush with the body work, but you'll have a tough time finding them and the width is less impressive.

In short I would by Cortc's set-up - 235/35-19's front and 265/30-19's rear and be prepared to do some very mild fender work in the rear of the vehicle.

the widest you can go on the rx8 stock rims is 295.. a lesson to all that dont know... you can always tell how big of a tire u can fit on a car depending on how wide the rim is.. a 9.5 rim like on the rx8. holds a max 295 tire.. that means if a 9.5 inch rim will fit so will a 295. and im pretty shure the widest you can go on the front is 265. i think the fronts are 8inch mabye 8.5 i cant remember at this moment.. this is more of an update post for this thread than anything else.

Either 295/35-17 or 295/30-18 fit without modification on 10.5" wheels that have the proper offset

edit: all four corners

You information is incorrect. A 9.5 inch wide rim doesn't automatically mean it will fit a 295 mm tire just because they both have the numbers 9 and 5.
You also have to consider the aspect ratio of the tire (the 2 numbers in the middle). For instance a 225 45 16 tire has a wider contact patch than a 225 75 16 tire.
If I were to take your advice than is it safe to say that my wife's civic with 205 55 16s has a half inch wide wheel?

Troy J. could be dead for all we know after 13 years!

On a side note I'm a contrarian, and wrapped my 7.5 x18 Enkei GF-1's in 215/40r18 Michelin PSS.

I can't get them loose on most street driving.

I ran those Ventus K104 tires for 6 years previous, and they were average traction for 2 years or so, and then, slick as glass and hard.
