where do most people buy tires from

i am looking for all-season performance tires for my 04 8, i read some of the threads that people wrote and seems like most people bought their tires or wheels from tirerack. do some people have any other places to mention where i can buy some tires for a little bit cheaper price. so far, i know wheelnext.com, tirerack.com.......and i think tirerack is the only one i know i can get good tires from. what i mean is that " does anyone know some websites where i can get <good> tires for a little cheaper price?"

tirerack will almost always have some of the lowest prices around.

^^ Agreed... Try that Discounttireonline.com site.. they have no tax and free shipping, but less selection...

Also, try craigslist and ebay, you may be able to find good tires for good price if you keep looking.

I've had excellent luck with craigslist. I bought a full set of LM-22s never mounted for $350 last season. Got another set slightly used last week for the same price.

Takes some time looking though...

I find the cheapest price online then bring it into my local Discount Tire for them to match it. Flat repairs, rotations and balancing are free for the life of the tire; and if you buy the optional road hazzard and something happens where the tire is not fixable you get a brand new tire free....even if you're down to 3/32nds. What is the Tire Rack gonna do for you?

Not sure of your location, but in Texas there is a tire chain store called Tiremax. They will beat Discout Tire by at least 10% and the best thing, you won't have to wait forever to have your tires changed, flats fixed, etc...

I bought my Hankook Ventus tires there and saved about $25 per tire compared to Discount Tire.

Make sure you find a good tire shop before you buy from tire rack.

They have a good list of vendors that will install their tires.

I just bought a set of tires from Discount Tire online. Tire rack had a cheaper price on the tires but after taxes and shipping, Discount Tire ended up being $30 less.

Tirerack is crossed off my list, recommend somebody else especially for competition purposes, you definitely don't want them to shave your tires and my experience in general is you'll likely receive several year old tires rather than fresh stock ...

+1 for discounttiredirect.com Shipping speed isn't that bad, and they do have tires that you can't get off Tirerack, like my Falken FK452s, but then it goes the other way too. You can also get their tire certificates ($20 each) in which they'll replace your tire if you can't fix it at a local shop for free (well, they recommend you buy a new tire cert but whatever). The only problem is that they won't drop ship like Tirerack will, so you'll have to transport your tires to your local tire shop.

I bought these tires just today. There "max performance summer", which doesn't bother me at all living in Houston. They used too be 234, but are now closing out at 129, so I had too jump onto that deal...

Discount Tire is pretty good and they mount & balance for free usually, too, but selection is sometimes minimal (depends on where you go). Do your homework before you go in and tell them what tire you want instead of having them sell you on a crappy tire.

Just to be clear on this, the B&M Discount Tire stores will order anything that's available on discounttiredirect.com; they're essentially the same company. assuming you have the time to wait a coupla days, you don't have to depend on their local inventory. and yes as alluded to above, the B&M Discount Tire location(aka America's Tire in some states) will often price match or beat an online offer from a competitor...just ask!.

Calgary, eh?

Try www.1010tires.com or www.tiretrend.com in British Columbia. No PST for out of BC customers, and shipping is a lot cheaper (and quicker) than from the states. While Tirerack prices are very attractive now especially with our dollar at parity, once you add on the shipping, cross-border UPS brokerage fees, and PST+GST, it comes pretty close to buying within Canada.

Which F1's are you thinking about?

I bought my falken azenis rt-615 at vulcantire.com . Seems to be the best price for this tire I could find, and no problems with shipping/service either.

I like america's tire (discounttire.com), but you should look at superbuytires.com also.

One of the best online stores that I have visited is very professional and has focused on their passion about everything to do with the world of automobiles. They have structured an easy and quick way to that enables the buyer to save money and fuel by buying tires and wheels online. Please visit: www.clicktire.com .

Check out treadzone.com. Just picked up a set of 19" T1r's for a good price, i think it was about 210 a tire. The site is a bit of a pain to use though so you should know what tire or tire size you are looking for.
