Wheel Offset Question?

I need some help as I'm learning.

I'm thinking of changing my wheels to 18 x 7.5 with a +42 mm offset. OEM wheels are 18 x 8 with a +50 offset. Will this smaller offset be a problem on my RX8/6MT? (Tires will remain the same size -- OEM size: 225/45R/18.)

Will the smaller offset require any changes, such as, will the toe-in need to be increased?

Appreciate any informed comments.

I'm interested in a set of white wheels with a polished lip. Any suggestions on brand, where to purchase, etc?

42 is still considered a pretty conservative offset. You shouldn't have a problem at all. I don't know why you would want to go with a narrower wheel though, most go a bit wider so they can run a little wider tire for more grip. I'd go 18x8.5 with an offset between 42 and 38 and run a 245x40 tire.

Oh, and the only wheel that I can think of off the top of my head that comes in white with a polished lip is the Work Meister S1. Link:

Spendy though.

Thanx for the reply. I hear ya. I am using the existing tires that I have, since they are in great condition. There just aren't many white wheels available -- most of what I've found (that I like) in 18 inches are 7.5 width. So, given those constraints, I want to know if +42 mm offset will be a problem and are other things that need to be considered, like the tow-in? So, your thoughts are that the +42 offset shouldn't be a problem. Appreciate your thoughts.

Hmm. I have an offset of +35 on tire 245x40 tire. Took it down lots of twisties last night and honestly I think it handles even better(if that is possible for the rx8
