I got the T1-s's like Fanman has on his, almost same setup. I like them so far here in georgia, especially when they get real sticky on this hot GA pavement.

I'm excited to get the T1R's. They're supposed to be delivered next Monday due to the tire place being closed for the 4th week.

RotorManiac...that price includes balancing and other stuff. Plus I get free rotations and balancing for as long as I have the tires. I think they could do better but I only have 3 options here where I'm at otherwise I'll spend an extra $40 in gas going back and forth from my hometown.

Maybe I'll see you around Atl Huff, the next time I'm in that area. Happy motoring everyone!

It's a few months from SPRING and I too am looking at new rubber (summer only). I've read some very good reviews of the Fuzion ZRi tires - performance for the money etc. etc. I'm thinking of the 235/35R19 to go with my yet to be determined 19ers. Has anyone actually bought these tires for their 8 - reviews?

When we went on a canyon run AddictiveRX had them on his car. They seem to perform pretty well. I will caution you on 19". I have them on my car right now, and to be honest, if I had to do it over again i would stick with 18" with a bigger sidewall. The ride is compromised a bit, and it is a bit harsher on the LA freeways. Just be aware if you go to 19" that your ride won't be as comfortable.

Couple of Questions:

How many of you would say you love your tires simply because they are the tires you purchased?

I was under the impression 'treadwear' ratings are subjective, and can only 'truly' be compared from the same maker. Id Est, A 200 treadwear on a Bridgestone may not last as long as a 180 rating on, say, Falken. Am I wrong?

Thanks for the heads up on the 19's Fanman. I'm aware of the ride compromise issue. Did you also notice any adverse effects re: handling due to the larger size/weight of the 19s? My 17" Konig Holes are far lighter/responsive than the OEM 18s although the winter rubber sucks.

Talking My final choice

I don't know if I ever updated this thread. I went with Yokohama AVS ES100s. I love them. To me they're quieter than the Potenzas and stick better too. I've had them for about 8K and no signs of wear yet. Supposed to be the same treadwear but no sign of it yet. I'm very pleased and recommend these tires.

I had the EVS100's on my Miata and really liked them. You also can't beat the price.

Over at Edge Racing the Nero's are listed as a UHPAS tire, & it has a Mud & Snow rating. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be driving on these on 6 inches of powder, but at the same token, I'm not sure they would be in the class of a dedicated, max traction summer only tire.

You are on the right track but i think you are misunderstanding the tire classifications.

Pirelli Pzero Nero - summer only
Pirelli Pzero Nero MS - all season

BF Goodrich Gforce TA KD - summer only
BF Goodrich Gforce TA KDW - summer only
BF Goodrich Gforce TA KDWS - all season

Unless a tire is rated for snow capability it is considered a summer only tire. A three season tire (spring, summer, and fall) is still considered summer only and is not classified as an all season tire.

I did actually, but moreso because the 19" rims I have are heavier than stock. The toe in is a bit more severe. A bit more understeer, but nothing too obnoxious. I have the RB suspension kit, but my car handled a bit better when I was on my stock 18" rims, but I just can't give up the bling.

As I posted in the replacement rubber thread, I've been very pleased with my Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I switched over my rear tires from the stock RE040's to the SPT's and the difference in road noise is amazing, grip has improved, and they wear much longer.

Plus, if you're not crazy about dumping $1k for rubber on a daily driver that doesn't see a lot of the track, they're hard to beat.

I'm a bit skeptical of this test in :

1) Tire Rack does not sell Toyo's

2) A tire that finished 2nd (Continental Sport Contact 2's) Are terrible tires. I had them on my 911, and honestly probably the worst tires I ever had. Though in deference to them, they said that they were surprised at the Conti's results as well.

This months Sport Contact Car tested the Toyo T1R's and gave it a very good write up. Some people have said that the Toyo's feel a bit greasy until you break them in. Maybe that is what happens.

Advan Neova AD07. It does stick like glue. Great stuff.
